Migrating data from QB Online BACK to QB Desktop. I have the xml file from QB online and the Desktop Migration Tool. Instructions are to start QBDT but without any windows open. Then use the migration tool. The migration tool crashes every time when QBDT throws up a window called "Quickbooks Desktop Usage & Analytics Study". Clearly, no windows are supposed to be open when running the migration, but QBDT throws open its own and then everything crashes with error 1009.
Any help? Clearly, the problem is with the stupid Usage & Analytics window.
I have fixes available to rectify error code 1009 in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Frust. This way, we can migrate your files from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to your desktop company.
The error code you encounter usually appears due to the following reasons:
To fix this, you can follow the steps below:
After that, start migrating your file again to move back to your desktop company. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team so they can thoroughly examine your file and provide fixes in no time. Our phone support can check your account via a shared screen to determine the leading cause in a secure setting.
Once done, you can get started with the application and run reports to check the data that is moved during the process.
Let me know if you need additional assistance with managing your file. The Community always has your back to lay an extra hand for help. Stay safe!
"From there, ensure there are no other windows open in QuickBooks."
No one from QB ever actually reads these, right? Because I wrote:
"The migration tool crashes every time when QBDT throws up a window called "Quickbooks Desktop Usage & Analytics Study"."
QBDT itself opens the window that crashes the migration tool. I even attached a picture of the situation, which the bot probably cannot interpret.
So, no, your canned solution is no solution at all.
You can purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
Yeah, I'm not doing that. This is an attempt to continue using QB products, move over to QB2424for a few years. If I am going to spend that kind of money, I may as well endure the pain and move on to another provider altogether. Intuit hates their customers, so the long-term is not good anyway.
Another option, purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data to QB Desktop and use the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then start from scratch in the new app.
