I see that QB desktop 2020 is being discontinued May 2023. I've been searching online and can't tell if I'm going to have to convert to QB online or if QB Desktop 2023 is still an option.

Thanks for any knowledge so I don't have to call sales.

Unless you're using payroll or bank feeds, you do not need to upgrade. If you need to upgrade and you've been happy with Desktop, I would suggest staying with it. If you upgrade Desktop (to 2022 or newer), you will be on an annual subscription plan, unlike your one-time purchase for 2020. Online has a different look and feel and loses a lot of the features of Desktop. Desktop is less expensive for better functionality (IMO). If you call Intuit, they will try and sell you on Online because it generates more revenue for them. Desktop is not being discontinued but I don't think you can even get Desktop Pro anymore so you may need to go with Premier.

Thank you for your prompt and complete response! We *are* using bank feeds and, more importantly, payroll, so we *do* need to upgrade. We also use the POS and I don't think there's a link to online at this point so, fortunately for us, I need to stay with desktop. I agree with you that "desktop is less expensive for better functionality." And if we can't get Pro, Premier it will be.
