I have an assembly item and when building it, i am not using one of the parts listed on the BOM. I don't want to remove the part from the BOM as I use it most of the time. How can I build this with either putting that qty as zero or deleting it off just this one build?

QB Enterprise allows you to Vary the build as you make the Build. You would make a different Assembly, for each Finished Good you stock that makes them different. Otherwise, you can Substitute and Change the BOM on the fly, on the Build, if that is what you are asking about.
