Thanks for posting here in the QuickBooks Community, rh55.

Are you referring to print later box of the check forms? If so, allow me to lay down the steps with screenshot for you to visualize where the print later box is located.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Expense.
  2. Select the checking account that you created the check from the View/Edit.
  3. From there, you'll see the Print later box under Check no.
  4. Click Save and close to confirm.

Otherwise, to ensure you'll get the satisfaction of where to find the print later box, may I know what kind of transaction you're trying to print specifically? For me to be able to provide an appropriate response to guide you to find the print-later method.

I appreciate your quick response, rh55. Let me share with you the simplified steps for marking Print Later on your invoices.

Currently, the Print later tab is only available in the old invoice form. Just click the Old layout tab on the upper right portion of your screen. When you're there, please tick the Print later box before saving it. Here's how:

  1. From the + New icon, select Invoice. Or you can go to Sales and select an invoice you want to mark Print later.
  2. Click the Print or Preview option below.
  3. Tick the box of Print later.
  4. Then, tap Save and close.

The new invoice system comes with many great and advanced features. However, some features from the old invoice system, such as the ability to Print or Preview invoices, is still being developed.

In this regard, I suggest submitting this feature request to our Product Engineers for future consideration. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback then click Next to submit.

I've included a link to track your request and receive updates from our development team: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.

Hi there, rh55. I'm here to ensure you can switch to the old invoice layout.

Before anything else, please know that the option to return to the old invoicing experience is only available for the Plus and Advanced versions.

I've attached a screenshot for visual reference.

For more information on the latest update and experience, check out this article: What's new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Meanwhile, if you're using the Plus and Advanced versions but the option did not appear, let's open your QuickBooks account in a private window to rule out browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl+ Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If the option to switch to the old layout appears, return to your regular browser and clear your cache. Occasionally, the accumulated cache and cookies in the system can become outdated or corrupted, leading to unexpected behaviors. You can also switch to other installed supported browsers, which is a good alternative.

On the other hand, if you're using the Simple Start or Essentials version and want to switch to the old layout to have the print later functionality, I recommend sending feedback to our product development team. They'll carefully review your idea and may consider it for future updates.

To submit your suggestion:

  1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  2. Type in your product suggestions.
  3. Select Next to submit.

For future reference, it's essential to promptly record payments received from customers in QuickBooks to ensure accurate financial record-keeping. It will also mark the invoices as paid and will make it easier for you to track your outstanding and paid invoices.

I'm still around to help whenever you need clarifications regarding the switch to the old layout option. If you require assistance managing your invoices, click the reply below.
