Printing a payroll summary report

I am trying to print a "Payroll Summary by Employee" report in QuickBooks online.  I can see the whole report on my computer screen.  It is landscape layout of 4 pages.  I cannot print all 4 pages.  The print function says "Print: page one", with no option to change that.  I can only get the first of four pages.  How can I print this whole report?

Pleased to have you here, @bielowicz3.

I’d be delighted to help ensure you’re able to print your payroll reports successfully.

When printing reports in landscape orientation, make sure to select All pages in the Print Preview page. Please refer to the screenshot below:

If the error persists, let’s apply the following troubleshooting steps to ensure that this is not browser related.

  • Access and print your payroll reports using an incognito or private browser. Kindly use either of the following shortcut keys:
    • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift N
    • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift P
    • Internet Explorer: press CTRL  Shift P
    • Safari: press Command Shift N
  • If you’re able to print successfully all the pages of your reports, clear the cache of your regular web browsers.
  • You can also use the Browser Health Checkup Tool to check any issues with your browser’s health and its compatibility with QuickBooks Online.

I'm having the same printing issue (only printing Page 1) in the QBO desktop app.  Of course I can download it to Excel, but then I have to resize columns and rows, etc., which takes extra time.  It would be a lot more convenient if Intuit would just fix the issue.  The report QBO produces looks great and would work beautifully if only we could print it.

I am having the same issue - and this is extremely disappointing given that the SBA Disaster Assistance programs require a report much like the one we are able to see on our screens...how hard can it be to make that printable? I agree with some of the comments - qbo is not use friendly and seems dedicated to making small tasks harder and more difficult. The theme I am getting from your replies is an attempt to blame it on the browser - however, if you shorten the report to 4 months (instead of an entire year), the report runs over one page and is easily produced...unfortunately, this method distorts the yearly/annual totals and makes it less than ideal.

This report printed fine in Quickbooks Desktop.  I see over a year has passed with no action to improve the printability of the report.  You can't print to PDF without cutting off data.  Exporting to Excel looks terrible and requires many formatting changes to make it readable.  Neither of these were issues in QB Desktop.  If I could easily go back to desktop I would, and still might anyway.  QBO isn't worth the hassle.  Wish there was more competition in this space.  Intuit is getting lazy.

Thank you for the response.

I think we should be able to print the reports without having to do the extra work of exporting/screenshots, etc...

I am having the same issue.  My report should be about 6 pages wide but it only prints to pdf the first page and the exporting to excel is an ugly report. Any fixes on this issue?

Thanks for looping in, @IraGal.

Have you tried the troubleshooting solutions shared by my colleagues to print the report? If so, and continue to get the same result, I highly recommend giving our Customer Care Team a call for assistance in creating a ticket.

They have tools capable of pulling up your account in a secure environment, which we are unable to do so here in the Community for security reasons. This will also provide engineers the data needed to look for the root cause, so they can apply a permanent fix to the printing issue.

The best I've been able to do with Print to PDF is set print preferences, page size, to tabloid, apply & print - not good enough, but better than over a year of nothing from Intuit QB.

This is too easy & basic of a function to not get absolutely right.

Tomorrow morning I'm researching other bookkeeping software.

Any suggestions?

I found a workaround that made the printout work for my situation.

On the Chrome print screen dialog box, under More Settings there is a Scale section that lets you adjust the % of scale on the page.  By backing this off until everything fits on the page, you can at least get all the data on the report - assuming your columns are not so voluminous as to be too small to read. Setting the margins to none and layout to landscape also helps.

Hello, @Miker2.

As I've checked from our records, the investigation (INV-41374) was still open and our engineers are still currently working to get a resolution as quickly as possible. At this time, we can try following the workarounds from this thread so you can print the report seamlessly.
