Quickbooks Database Server Manager Status STOPPED

We have 4 company files on a dedicated computer running Quickbooks Database Server Manager. It's been working perfectly for over a year. Suddenly 7 days ago all users began getting kicked out of all company files at the same time. For Desktop users, Quickbooks either closes or shows an error message with only the option to "Abort".

Each time, Over on the dedicated host. Quickbooks Database Server Manager shows a status of "STOPPED" (on the "Database Server Tab"). Each time, I can go to the "Scan Folders" tab and "Start Scan" and it always works again but only for what seems like a random time period from 5 minutes to as long as 4 hours before once again kicking everyone out and showing a status of "STOPPED".

I have done the following troubleshooting so far.

I replaced the computer running Quickbooks Database Server Manager with a completely new computer and new installation of Quickbooks Database Server Manager. The result, is that the identical problem occurs. To me the seems to indicate that the issue is either with one or all company files or with a computer that accesses the shared folder or logs in to the company file...

I ran rebuild on all company files before the host computer change.

I have gone through all the typical troubleshooting steps. Setting the to services to restart after failure (which has no affect at all) and giving full access permissions etc.

I have checked Quickbooks logs on the host, but there is not enough information. It does not log anything when Status changes from "RUNNING" to "STOPPED". If there is a way to get more detailed logging I would like to know that..

I have contacted Intuit by phone and chat. Unfortunately, I keep getting the same suggestions that I have already tried.

I am checking log, taking screenshots of logged in users. Checking "Computer Managment" Shared sessions and open files. If there are other logs that might be helpful I would like to know that.

My next steps will be to try turning back on the old Host and move company files so see if I can determine if it only happens when the host running Quickbooks Database Server Manager is hosting a particular company file (or being accesses by certain client computers). I'm posting this in case someone is familiar with this issue and can share a better next step..

You don't say what  operating system (and version) you are running or what QB version you are running. Since you seem to have done a good job of troubleshooting I'll assume both the operating system and QB have been updated.

Also please let me know if any third party software is accessing QB through ODBC

Quickbooks Enterprise 19.0 R12P
As mentioned.. same result with Quickbooks Database Server running on Windows 7 and 10
Quickbooks users are set to auto update and are all on R12P.
None of the Desktop users are in Hosting Mode.
Third party programs include Corrigo and The Loan Office (Loan Office is used once a month to import transactions).

Thanks ShiellaGraceA. However, we have already gone through those steps. As mentioned not only did we do those steps we also completely replaced the computer hosting files and running Quickbooks Database Manager which means Quickbooks was installed on a new OS image and on new hardware that it had not been installed on before. Inbound/Outbound firewall rules were also manually entered as part of troubleshooting but that also is not a solution for us.

I have the same problem and did the same things you did. Replacing everything still doesn’t work. After A reboot, the database service is it to manual and stopped.

I wrote a powershell script that stops DNS, restarts QuickBooksDBService and then restarts DNS. I scheduled that to run via task scheduler every reboot.

I called QuickBooks support and they don’t have an answer.

It’s quite sad for as much money as a customer pays a year
