Receipts uploaded to wrong company

Hello,

I am a bookkeeper and one of my clients has two QBO files, one new and one old, as we had to completely start over in the new year. My client went in to upload receipts on her QB mobile app for me to review but accidentally uploaded them to the old file. What is the easiest way to move these receipts over to the new file? Will I need to download and reupload each of them?

Thank you,

Elizabeth

Thanks for becoming part of the Community, canfieldcan.

If receipts were uploaded to an incorrect account, your process for getting them into the correct account will be the same.

Here's how to upload receipts with a mobile device:

  1. Open your QuickBooks app.
  2. Use the Menu (≡) icon.
  3. Tap Receipt snap.
  4. Hit Receipt camera.
  5. Snap a photo of your receipt.
  6. Press Use this photo.
  7. Select Done.

You can also import receipts from a computer or Google Drive account:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks with a web browser.
  2. Go to Banking, Receipts, then select Upload from computer or Upload from Google Drive.

After they're imported to the correct account, you can move forward with reviewing, adding, or matching them.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a great day!

Hello,

Yes, I understand that I can simply upload them to the correct file. However, I was asking if there was a way to transfer them directly from the incorrect file to the correct one. I assume by your answer that there is not a way to do that.

Thanks for getting back with the Community, canfieldcan.

You're correct, the process for getting receipts into the proper QuickBooks account is uploading them to that account.

I can certainly understand how an ability to transfer uploaded receipts between different QuickBooks accounts could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Gear (⚙️) icon, then go to Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestion(s) in the Have feedback? window.
  3. If necessary, attach a file with your Camera (📷) icon.
  4. Select Next.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

You also have the option of checking our QuickBooks App Store for apps which may be able to help you achieve what you're looking to accomplish.

If there's any questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
