Can someone give me some information on the subscriptions.  We operate a small company with 10-15 employees.  We have always had "Basic Payroll".  We now Have Quickbooks 2022. We run our own payroll, pay our own Fed and State taxes, File our own 941 returns, print our own W-2's etc.   After going over my intuit accounts I discovered that I pay for 2 subscriptions.  #1 is Quickbooks Payroll Annual Standard $718.50 with tax

and #2 Quickbooks Plus Annual Subscription Pro $588.80 with Tax.   Do I need both of theses?   These charges seem extreme!   I call support and was told that Quickbook Payroll Annual Standard was for the IRS Tax Stuff and that the Quickbooks Plus Annual Subscription Plus was for Finances, Reports, ETC.   I was told I need both of these things.   Is this true or am I getting screwed?     Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!

Hello there, cnc0513.

I'll explain the differences between QuickBooks Payroll Annual Standard and QuickBooks Plus Annual Subscription, as well as how they work. I'll also ensure you can manage them properly to organize your data efficiently.

The QuickBooks Plus Annual Subscription provides additional features such as tracking income and expenses, creating and sending invoices, managing bills, and tracking inventory. While QuickBooks Payroll Annual Standard covers payroll processing, including paying employees and filing payroll taxes online. If you require this subscription alongside managing your financial data, then the QuickBooks Payroll Annual Standard would be beneficial for your business.

However, if the said payroll account isn't needed on your end, QuickBooks will let you cancel subscriptions anytime you want. As long as you follow the cancellation process, everything will be safe. You can manage or cancel your subscriptions within your QuickBooks Desktop company file or in the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs).

Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Go to camps.intuit.com.
  2. Under the Products & Services area, find your old payroll subscription, then select Details.
  3. Click Cancel Service and follow the on-screen steps to cancel your payroll service. You’ll receive a confirmation message after.

Additionally, I also recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Support Team. They're the best support group for such inquiries as they can request account information. This way, they'll be able to further review your subscription and make a refund if necessary.

In case you need to update your contacts, billing, and login credentials in the future, you can bookmark this article: Change, manage or update your Intuit account with CAMPs. It has complete instructions and resources for things you can do in CAMPs.

You can still reach out to me by tapping the reply button below if you need further clarification regarding the subscription, I'd be available to assist, cnc0513.

Consider upgrading to QB Desktop Enterprise Gold to lower your total cost. You should purchase the new license through a select partner to get perpetual discounts for renewals.

Another option, consider switching to QB Desktop with a non subscription license + a 3rd party payroll app. You will register your payroll expense as JE manually in QB Desktop.
