Two notes are pinned for same customer

We use QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2017. We have two notes under a customer and both are pinned. I cannot get either note to unpin. It happened when another user went to pin the new note, which usually unpins the first, but this time it didn't.

 

I've tried creating a new note, thinking it might pin and unpin the other two and that didn't work. How can I unpin the undesired note?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. As a workaround, I'd suggest you create a note with a single space in it, then pin it. This will release the prior Pinned note.

 

In case the issue persists, you can run the Verify and rebuild data tool to help you fix the most data problems.

Thank you, I did use your work around. After I created the new note with a space and pinned it, I still had  another note pinned (the one I wanted pinned!). So I went back and deleted my blank note and I was left with one pinned item. Yeah!!! Thank you very much for the work around.

How can I edit a pinned note and/or add a new one?

I'm happy to walk you through the steps of editing/adding a new note and how you can pin them in QuickBooks Desktop. 

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. To add a new note go to the Customer Center
  2. Choose the customer and click on the Notes tab. 
  3. Right-click in the blank field and select Add New.
  4. Enter your notes. Then tap on OK to save. 
  5. Once your note is saved, you can click on the Pin icon to pin whichever note you wish. Please know if there is only one note, that note will automatically be pinned.
