Upgrading desktop

I have Desktop Pro 2018.  I have been trying for a year to upgrade.  I have called, I have chatted with the rudest most unhelpful "consultant".  No one will tell me how to upgrade.  I do not know if my account is active.  Everything is subscription now but I don't know if mine expired.  I don't know how to find out.  Why is this so confusing?

Can someone just tell me how to check my subscription and how to update my desktop version.  Do not tell me to do Online.  I do not want it.

Registered January 2020 and status is still active. It's very likely you've paid for the renewal twice and you should be able to find your license code for QB Desktop 2020, 2021 and 2022 in your CAMPS.

If you can still run QBD 2018 on your machine, you may have the one time license of it. Login to your CAMPS to check your license information.

then you may consider to purchase the one time license for QBD 2021 or the subscription license for QBD 2022 to upgrade your version.

I have an active annual subscription.  Where do I go to purchase a license for 2022?  QBs customer support only wanted to sell me online.

It's my goal to help clarify things about upgrading QuickBooks, suzannek1.

 

Your QuickBooks Desktop is a one-time purchase. This means that you can use the software for as long as you want but for basic accounting purposes only. If you have online subscriptions attached to your QuickBooks like Payroll, Online Banking, Merchant, and others, we recommend you upgrade your software.

 

To see your product information and its status, you can log in to CAMPS.com. I'll show you how:

 

  1. Sign in to camps.intuit.com.
  2. Find your app or subscription in the Products & Services list.
  3. Select Details, then Download.

In terms of upgrading, QuickBooks makes it easy for customers to upgrade. You'll be seeing a prompt message that there's a new version. Here's how to do it:

 

  1. When you’re ready, select Upgrade Now.
  2. Select Keep old version on my computer if you want to keep your current QuickBooks. Then select Let’s go. QuickBooks downloads install and activate the new version for you. It updates your company file(s).
  3. When the upgrade is done, select Open QuickBooks.

In case you did not see any prompt, you can follow the steps below:

 

  1. Go to Help, and then Upgrade QuickBooks.
  2. Select the version you want to upgrade to, then select Upgrade Now.
  3. You can keep a copy of your current version of QuickBooks. Select Keep old version on my computer, then select Let’s go.
