Using Other fields in layout designer

I'm using desktop Premium Contractor Edition 2021 and have utilized the Other fields (columns) in Layout Designer. Is it possible to search this field?

Thanks for raising this in the Community, @SR6109. I'm here to share information about your concern.

If you want to search the Other fields (columns) from the General search window or tab in the QuickBooks Desktop it is unavailable since the Other columns are part of the template itself.

However, if you mean something else, I'd like to know which area you'll want to search it. That way, we can provide a solution that fits your situation. A screenshot would also be a great help.

I was actually able to figure out a roundabout way to do it. I'm using it to search for serial numbers. I renamed the other 1 column to serial numbers in my purchase order and invoice templates. I do have to list items one per line but I can now search for those numbers. Not the best solution but is doable.
