I would like to see who in the “community” suggested this insane price structure! Why is intuit not offering an option? Why would I want to throw away $1,000 per year during a very tough economic cycle? Nuts! Insane!

@valerie11

They are just the last one to follow the market. I noticed no accounting app offers ACH payment for free any longer. If you are running a B2C operation, you should explore what your bank can offer. Wise offers ACH payment for free (2-3 days) and wire payment for $7,5 per transaction.

https:// wise.prf.hn/l/64dl92k

Otherwise, consider a payment processor to integrate with your QBO. One app offers $0.65 + 0.2% to integrate with your QBO invoice.

Why has quickbooks disabled every possible way to reach customer service regarding this issue? No access to feature requests? No 1800 help as it sends you to chat? No chat service as it states it is unavailable at the moment? This is insane! You doubled our monthly rate last year and no you offer NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I still would love to hear how is it ok to not offer an option in speed of funding and are charging us about $10 per transaction as opposed to .50!!!!!!!!!!!

ACH Fees

Hi there, @valerie11.

Thank you for utilizing the Community page. I'd be glad to help you chat with our Customer Support team.

Our support will not be available outside our operating hours. Moving forward, you can reach us (M-F from 6 AM to 6 PM PT).

Also, we've been sending emails about the next-day deposit for QuickBooks Payments. I understand that cash flow is critical to your business, and we are responding to consistent feedback that our merchants want their money faster. Additionally, our funding speed and cost have not been in line with market standards.

Starting April 12, 2021, you'll be moved from Free ACH 5 day funding to Next Day funding for ACH bank transfers with a cost of 1% capped at $10.

There are no changes to credit card or debit card payments. And payments processed before 3:00 PM PT arrive at your bank the next business day.

Please feel free to read these handy articles for your reference:

You can always leave a comment if you have further questions. Have a great day!

I agree.  This was just a "money grab" by intuit which is wrong, but at a time when some businesses are really hurting is definitely not right.  If we wanted our money faster would could have switched ourselves to the "next day service"

I think it is a good that we all contact our state's Attorney General to file a legal complaint... seems like an open and shut class action law suit.

You can find Attorney General here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_attorney_general

I am not one to get on a soap box or speak out on issues, but this is not fair and helps a great big business at the expense of a lot of small businesses.

Thank you for bringing this to Quickbooks' attention everyone. I just started a very small business and my first invoice came into my bank account with an ACH transfer fee I didn't consent to and I immediately went snooping into the issue and landed here. I hope that the Quickbooks team makes it optional like it apparently was before. Because for a small business this is KILLER.

I already pay you every month for the service you provide. Why the heck do you need more money from me? Every other service like Venmo, Paypal, Cash app let me CHOOSE if I want to do the ACH 1% for an instant transfer. Which makes sense.

I chose you because I want to send clients professional invoices, use the tax function, and have a clear profit/loss diagram. Please fix this so I can stay! Your business model should be lifting your clients up financially. Or there is no payoff for us. And that's not how you create loyalty.

I'm confused....it took 5 days to transfer my funds and I still got the fee. It wasn't the next day...explain!

ACH Fees

Hello there, mxmarketingllc.

I appreciate you for sharing your experience with us.

ACH transfer fees vary on several factors. One example would be the number of transaction volumes. Businesses with larger transaction volumes tend to pay less per transaction. You'll want to check your bank to verify your ACH transactions.

Also, you may consider looking for an application that allows you to accept ACH payment for free and integrate with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you want it to deposit the next day, make sure it is set up correctly. This article will be your guide in doing so (Scroll down to the For next-day deposits in QuickBooks Online section): Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments

You might want to read through the following articles to become more familiar with the fees for QuickBooks Payments:

Be sure to drop me a reply if you have additional questions with QuickBooks Payments. I'm here to help. Stay safe and have a good one.

This is a big bank hit for Small Business Owners who are already feeling the hurt of the pandemic. In just a month I've paid nearly $100 in fees and the "speed of deposit" isn't a benefit to me. Has anyone researched Quicken to see if that is a more affordable option. I'd love to leave Quickbooks as soon as possible. This feels like a class-action lawsuit in the making with this new forced fee structure.

Many option in the market to explore. How much is your budget?

It was all clearly a crafted ploy to get people used to a service for free, and then "all of the sudden" need to start charging after everyone got used to it. QuickBooks has joined the ranks of the "Free HBO for 3 months" game. I spent 2 hours on chat today with them, only for them to end the chat every time before doing anything or answering any questions. Just leaving! QuickBooks doesn't seem to want any sort of oversight in their chat, and they clearly don't care about us, since they pulled this bait and switch on us with the "limited time" Free ACH use. ACH is free to use! It would sometimes take a week to get my money, but I was fine with it as long as it arrived eventually.

This is the most annoying thing I've ever had to deal with in regard to my company, and as a business owner, I already have a lot of junk to deal with. Some people in this forum here are complaining about it adding an additional $7,500 or more to their companies. QuickBooks is saying the community "asked" for this... mmhmmm People love asking to get charged more for something that everyone else offers for free, after being told it was free to use. Right?

What do we say to the attorney general? What complaint do we file? Bait and switch? Lying about the community requesting this?

@Tabens

Yes and no. I have yet to find another accounting app accepting ACH payment for free. But you will find some payment processors offering ACH payment for free.

I'd like to echo the feedback that Quickbooks making this change to a fee without informing users has been terrible. We process many invoices with high account values so this has become a significant expense that we are receiving absolutely no incremental value from. This previously was an on-demand feature where users could decide to opt-in. It is completely ridiculous saying the decision to make it mandatory was due to users' requests. People who wanted it could easily have opted in in the past. This feels like nefarious pricing practice. We are now actively reviewing other accounting platforms instead of QBO. Even if we don't fully switch, we will absolutely be stopping our use of QB ACH payments because of this change. Terrible customer service and communication all around on this.

This makes very little sense. People are forced into paying for 1 day turnaround. There shouldn't be additional steps to have to activate to make that happen.

This is the most shameless money grab I have seen across any of the software platforms that I use to manage my company.

Very disappointed in QB and Intuit. I hope that this fee is reconsidered.

Contact us in private to purchase our conversion service. Afaik, no accounting app offers ACH payments for free any longer. You may still have to use an additional app or service to do so.

It is a complete money grab. This is a seamless transaction and somehow they think we can pawn it off on our clients. Another reason to drop QBO. They keep sliding in costs right and left.

"Starting April 12, 2021, you'll be moved from Free ACH 5 day funding to Next Day funding for ACH bank transfers with a cost of 1% capped at $10."

You didn't answer my question. This is a direct quote from QB personnel in the thread above.

1. Are we being forced to Next Day with a fee?

2. It says Free ACH 5 day funding but it is not free, why?

3. If we were being moved to Next Day, I did not because it still takes 5 days to transfer and I still get the fee.

WHAT is going on here?!?!?

Thanks for updating this thread, @mxmarketingllc,

Your deposit speed is determined by the product you're using and the type of payment you process. You can check your deposit speed from QuickBooks Online or the Merchant Service Center. You can also do it in QuickBooks Online using the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  2. Select the Payments tab.
  3. Review the Deposit Speed section.

I want to make sure your questions related to payments processing is addressed. While we can't handle billing or account-related concerns in this forum, I highly recommend contacting our Customer Service. They are the ones who can best explain your account details and explain it thoroughly with you.

Is there a new transaction fee for bank transfers? I'm getting charged more than $10 per transaction but less than 1%

I'll answer this question for you, @KenLee.

The ACH rate for QuickBooks Payments is still 1%, with a max of $10. In your situation, I suggest you contact our QuickBooks Payments support for further assistance. They can pull up your account info within a secure environment and investigate the transaction in question for you. See this article for the steps: Contact Payments or Point of Sale Support. Please take note of their operating hours, so you know when they're available.

I suggest you view this article: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments. It includes the steps on how you can check for payment issues.

Post a reply if you have other questions about the rates in QuickBooks Payments. I'll be sure to get back to you. Enjoy the rest of the day!
