Turning off the Dark Mode theme can be done with ease, @NelsonImprvmnts.
All you need to do is to switch off the button on the QuickBooks Themes page.
If it doesn't return to the default theme, your browser may have accumulated too much historical data. Issues like this are usually the result of corrupt cache files in your web browser. Not to worry, you can clear them in a few easy steps.
Let's start by accessing your account through an incognito window. Doing this rules out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
If it's responsive, I recommend that you clear its cache. By clearing them, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with your browser.

Cleared data and still won't turn off
Thank you for keeping us updated about the outcome when trying the steps above, NelsonImprvmnts.

Did you ever find a resolution for this? I have a user in my office that had dark mode randomly turned on for them are we are unable to turn it off as well.
Thanks for joining us, @Alex319.
I have some information about switching off the Dark Mode theme. Let your user switch off the Dark Mode by following the steps provided by my peer @LieraMarie_A . After performing the steps, have your user log out and log back in to see the changes.
If they're experiencing the same result, please contact our Customer Care Team so we can create a ticket for you and investigate further. Refer to the above steps to reach out.

I'm also having this issue. I've been chatting with a rep for an hour and a half about it and they can't figure out how to turn it off. I normally like dark mode but Quickbooks has too many places that have white text on a white background and I can't see what's there. Terrible.
Hello, jp666.
I am also keen and sensitive when it comes to the program's text readability using themes. I appreciate your time in reaching out to our support, but I don't want you to leave empty-handed here. I'll lay down some tools to help you fix the dark mode setting and turn the tables around.
Have you installed any browser extension that offers dark mode? If this is the case, then this is likely the reason why this mode is always enabled on your end.
So, we'll want to turn it off by accessing the extensions list in your browser's settings. Each browser is different, so check with their help resources if needed.
If you're not using any browser extensions, let's take this a little bit further.
You might've already tried or done this during your contact with the support agent. Is the button to turn off the mode not working? Or is the setting not applying after toggling?
If you're unable to toggle the option to off, or if the settings are not applying, let's close and re-open the browser to apply the settings.
If that doesn't work, then this is likely caused by a cache-related issue. When a browser's cache is full or corrupted, some settings might not apply correctly.
To rule this out, let's use an incognito or a private browser:
Check QuickBooks, then turn off dark mode. When you're able to do so, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. This removes any cache data that's preventing your settings from being applied properly.
Another alternative is to use other supported browsers.
After successfully turning off dark mode, we can check QuickBooks again and review the financials if needed. If you need help with this in the future, I'll add this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
I'll hear you out if you have concerns about other settings in QuickBooks. I'll also cover other topics if you need help with reports, entries, and lists.
We did all of those things. I cleared the chat, changed my browser to light mode, used a different browser, refreshed, closed the browser, logged back in, went to QuickBooks Labs and turned off the dark mode toggle. We were chatting for 3 hours without resolution before I got disconnected.
