Hi there, RBM25.

Payment for a levy is considered as payable Hence, you can create an expense transaction to record the levy.

However, to help you decide on what account to use when tracking the transaction, I recommend consulting your accountant. They'll be able to provide you with the best course of action for your business.

To create an expense:

  1. Hit on Banking at the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Write Checks.
  3. Enter the information needed.
  4. Make sure to select the Expenses tab and enter the amount.
  5. Click Save & Close.

For in-depth information about writing a check, please refer to this article: Create, modify, and print checks.

Thank you.

My problem is, How do I connect it to the customer invoice.

It is like the customer is giving the money to the vendor for me me but the i am not seeing the money.

I just have to show it in QB.

Thank you again!!

Hi there, RBM25. Thanks for following up with the Community.

In QuickBooks, there isn't a way to link checks with invoices. You could potentially use a billable expense to show your customer paid an expense, but I'd recommend working with an accounting professional to confirm the proper steps you'll need to take to achieve what you're looking to accomplish.

If you're in need of one, there's an awesome tool on our website called Find an Accountant. All ProAdvisors listed there are QuickBooks-certified and able to provide helpful insights for driving your business's success.

Here's how it works:

  1. Go to our Find an Accountant page.
  2. In the Find an expert in section, choose what you're looking for, then use your search field to enter a City or ZIP code.
  3. Select Find a ProAdvisor.
  4. Browse through the results and find one that works best for your business. You can click on each ProAdvisor's profile to learn more information about them.

Once you've found an accountant, they can be contacted through their Send a message form:

  1. Use the available text box to introduce yourself. Be sure to include details about which services you're looking for.
  2. Enter your appropriate info in the Your nameYour email, and Your phone number (optional) fields.
  3. Hit Send message.

You'll also be able to find many detailed resources about using QuickBooks in our help article archives.

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a lovely day!
