Anyone else having a problem with QuickBooks self-employed, since the last update, tracking expenses properly and hence reflecting an overestimate for estimated taxes?

Last quarter estimated taxes were around $295. This upcoming quarter is showing an estimate of over $4,000. Nothing significantly has changed with my ride sharing business.

Anyone else having a problem with QuickBooks self-employed, since the last update, tracking expenses properly and hence reflecting an overestimate for estimated taxes?

Allow me to help you sort this out in no time, @chulohock.

QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) calculates your estimated taxes based on the income and expenses you enter and categorize. Since you haven't made any changes before updating your QBSE, I recommend performing some troubleshooting steps to isolate this issue.

Sometimes, numerous cached files can cause unusual browser behavior. Let's access your QBSE through a private window.

Here are some key shortcuts for accessing a private window:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the estimated taxes are correct, the root cause of the issue must be from your regular browser. I suggest clearing your regular browser's cache. You can also use other devices and supported browsers to ensure everything works as expected. Additionally, you can also restart your computer to narrow it down.

If none of these steps work, I suggest contacting our Customer Support Team for further assistance. Review the link on how to get in touch with QBO.

I've also added this helpful article that guides you in managing taxes in QBSE: Manage Taxes in QBSE.

Keep me updated on your progress. Ensuring you can process estimated taxes in QBSE is my top priority. I look forward to your response!
