Buy now & saveI am running into a data exception when trying to use the "Export Data" tool via the cogwheel settings. We have used this in the past to run periodic full data backups, but have discovered that the General Ledger Data report in this export is not populating all data. This is happening across many companies and any time period, so is not an isolated incident.
What appears to be happening is that only "Bill" type transactions are running in the General Ledger report. Other reports in the Export Data tool seem to be populating fine, but this means this tool is not a sufficient tool for gathering data backups. Has anyone else noticed this issue? I have clean exports from July 2024 that worked and it looks like September 2024 is when this stopped working appropriately. Is there a fix from Intuit planned for this? It is a major big for something that should be relied upon for making data backups easier.
Good evening, @zkarstens.

I am using the Export Data tool by going to the Cogwheel settings and choosing "Export Data" and then choosing "It's a backup".
Reports exported from the main reporting screen export fine. It is just this tool (which is meant to be used for pulling down backup data across several reports). The issue persists across several companies and if I use different date ranges as well.
Hey zkarstens,
Thanks for sharing those details! I just want to confirm if you were able to clear your cache and cookies and still experiencing this issue? I am looking forward to your response! See you in a few.
Yes - I cleared cache and I also tested on a separate browser that doesn't have any cached activity or cookies and the same problem persists.

This is great. I would like to export my QB data because I have to change nearly a year's worth of data; and I plan to use SAASANT to help me import my changes; but I need to make those changes outside QB inside excel. I want to do a MASS explort from QB of all my transactions (and splits) such that the QBID is included. Whatever your instructs/reply is can you be SURE to address the issue of including the QBID (unique identifyer)?
Hello there, Realops.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), there are multiple unique identifiers that we can find. Can you please specify which specific QB ID you are referring to? This way, I'll be able to address your concern accurately.
In the meantime, you can run the Transaction List with Splits report and then select Account in the Group by field to export all your transactions and splits. I've attached screenshot for your reference:
