Question

Has anyone successfully setup email forwarding from a gmail account to quickbooks online? I want to forward receipts automatically using googles email filters.

Hi swiderski!

Yes, we have clients who are using this feature. I'm glad you're interested in it. I'm sure this will save you time because you only need to approve the transactions like treating bank transactions.

This works by registering the email address of a company user so they can send photos of the receipts to [email address removed]. Our system will process them and feed you the transactions in the Receipts tab. You can find more details in this article: Email receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, feel free to check the QuickBooks Blog page to see the latest updates about our products.

If you have additional questions on the Receipt forwarding feature, please don't hesitate to go back to this page.

Hello JessT,

I'm using the drop-in, and uploading feature and I do email receipts from my google account. What I would like to do is setup forwarding in google so that I can setup gmail filters that will forward to [email address removed]. I'm stuck at the point where we need the verification code that is sent to quick books as I never see the email go though with the verification code (as a receipt). I do know that the email from google for forwarding setup is [email address removed]. I manually can forward invoices to quickbooks but I wanted to setup forwarding to automate the system.

Thanks in advanced

Thanks for coming back, swiderski.

At the moment, we haven't had any tests for the automatic forwarding feature in Gmail.

I'm just around if you have more questions.

Has there been any development on this issue?  Or have you figured out a way to bypass?  I too use google to email and they require the email @qbodocs.com to verify the email sent to them.  I need to access this email please!

Hello there, @Chanmanx2k

I can see that you've posted twice in this forum in which my colleague @ReyJohn_D already answered your question.

Additionally, I want you to get the most out of QuickBooks for your business. You can check some articles that are designed to help you get acclimated to the software. They can be accessed at the following link: QuickBooks Tutorials.

I'll be here if you need anything else. Have a great day ahead.

Yes, I have found a way to do it. It will take 10 minutes to set up but it is working

I spent hours trying to solve this, happy that I could find this resource!

This is pretty amazing script @sylvain8. I followed your article and was able to set up my own script as well.

What I like about this approach is the use of filters to have a fine-grain approach on what to filter first, and then forward it to Quickbooks, keeping things clean.

I created my own version of the script and published it as a gist on GitHub, crediting your article.

The gist can be found here:
