That is not an option in QBO
Thanks for posting to the Community, @jerrys-package-s.
@Rustler is right. You can visit our QuickBooks Apps to check for an application that can help you add QR code to your invoice.

QuickBooks previously auto-generated a QR code in an invoice... when you clicked on print or preview, there was an optional checkbox to include a QR code or a link to payment when printing or previewing. This feature was great, but is no longer appearing as of a few days ago. Please share information on this if you have any!
Thanks for sharing your insights, @Seattle_1.
For now, I’m unable to share with you the specific time frame as to when this feature will be available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I’ll take note of this and let our engineering team know so they’ll consider adding this in the future. They're always looking for ways to improve our product to satisfy our customer’s needs.
In the meantime, you can visit our Apps store and look for a third-party app that integrates well with QBO and lets you add a QR code in your invoice. You can refer to the link shared by my colleague Jovychris_A above.
You can also go to the Apps menu in your QBO account and browse for an app from there. Additionally, I recommend checking our QuickBooks blog page from time to time. Here, you'll stay updated on the latest news and happenings in QuickBooks.
Also, allow me to add this article that can guide you through the complete process in case you need to refund your customer in the future: Record a customer refund in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with your QBO account. It’s always my pleasure to help you out. Have a nice day!
what app would be the best to integrate with quickbooks online to use QR codes
Hi there, niki 1.
Thank you for stopping by the Community today. While I can't recommend a specific app to you as there are many great ones for you to choose from, I can include a link to our app store. I've also taken the liberty to search for inventory management apps in that link to help you narrow down your search.
Here are a few helpful links that you can check out:
If there's anything else I can help with, feel free to post here anytime. Thank you and have a lovely Monday.
Thank you for this. I noticed that this featured WAS available in invoices for a few weeks... maybe months. It did not initially work, then once it did started to use it and thought it was a great feature. As a small business trying to make things easier for customers in COVID, it would be great if you could add this feature back live/make it a priority.
Thank you!

Your message states this is not a feature... Is it in the works to be a feature? I ask because I created an invoice today, selected Print/Preview and the preview window popped open with the option to add a QR Code. I thought, "Awesome, this will be great for some of my customers." Then I created another invoice for a different client and the typical preview window popped open without the QR code option. What gives? I do not understand how it "Is Not" and option when it clearly pops up for some of my customers and the does not pop up for others.
I appreciate you joining in this thread, Carabeo Brothers.
As referenced by my peers above, adding QR code on invoices is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You may have turned some third-party application that supports this feature the reason why you have the option to add a QR code.
You may search for third-party applications that integrate well and provide seamless scanning of barcodes. Though, we're unable to provide recommendations on which one to use.
I suggest you visit the QuickBooks Apps site and look for an app that meets your business needs. You can also do this inside your company, just go to Apps on the left panel and then enter a keyword in the search field.

If I can be of assistance while working in QuickBooks, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand.
Thank you for the reply. I did read the above comments about third party. I have not turned anything on or made any adjustments in quickbooks. This literally happens for only 2 out of 100 clients when I click print/preview. I have never seen it pop up before so I was surprised and excited which immediately faded when I realized it did not do this for all my invoices. I will look into a third party for it though it would be amazing for it to be a permanent feature without needing a third party add on.
Thanks for following up with the Community, Carabeo Brothers.
I'm happy to hear RoseMarjorieA was able to help. You'll be able to find many useful applications in our QuickBooks App Store.
I can certainly understand how having an ability to enter a QR code on invoices could be useful to yourself and others. My colleague, JasroV, submitted a suggestion about this to our Engineering Team on October 1, 2020. I've also sent feedback about it as of today.
If you'd like to send your own feature requests to our developers, you can do so while signed in.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It goes directly to our Product Development Team and will be considered in future updates. Feature requests can be tracked through the Customer Feedback website.
If there's anything else I can help with, please feel more than welcome to reach out anytime. Have a fantastic day!
For the time being, explore this connector to create a QR code every time you released the invoice.

Hi @jerrys-package-s (and @Carabeo Brothers, @Fiat Lux - ASIA ),
As I just posted in another thread on the community forum, a client of mine has recently came across this problem and requested me to create him a solution.
My solution is to append the QR code (and a custom text, like "Pay now via ___:" above it) to the PDF file of the invoice itself.
Would that be something that other QB users would want to use? If so - I am thinking of building an app for that to be listed and available for all QB users via the App Market (as suggested by @Jovychris_A, @Nick_M and @ZackE.)
Hello. Trying to add QR code to the invoice but still don't seem to be available. Will this option be up soon?
It’s nice to see you in the Community today, Jane MC.
I’ll help and route you in the right direction on how to add the QR code to your invoices.
As mentioned by my colleagues, you can use a third party to add the QR code to your invoices. We treat all businesses fairly, so I’m unable to recommend which one to use.
The QuickBooks Apps site is a place where you’ll find third-party applications that integrates with the online program. To expedite the process, type a keyword in the search box.
You can check the customers’ reviews to get a better comparison of each app. Then choose the one that best suits your need the most.
I also invite you to visit the QuickBooks Blog to keep you in the loop on the latest news about the product. From there, you'll see the features added to QBO and resources to help your business thrive.
Dont hesitate to hit the Reply button if you have additional questions or concerns. As always, I'm only a few clicks away for help. Have a great rest of the day.
If you have an email address listed on the invoice (saved) and hit print, the QR code option pops up. Try it! :-)
Yesterday I was able to print an Invoice with a QR even though Quickbooks stated this option was not available anymore, and yet, today I cant anymore. Is this option turned on and off?
Being able to add QR codes to invoices definitely makes it easier to receive payments from your customers, @charles43.
I've got some details on how to add a QR code to your invoice that I'd like to share with you.
Please make sure to use only one invoice template which is the Ary new so that the QR code will show.
You can follow these steps below to use the Ary new form style for your template:
To learn more about how this works in QuickBooks, please refer to this article: Payment links in QuickBooks Online Payments.

Hi all,
Till now Quickbooks has not added this feature to online or offline versions. Anyone has a solution please contact me. It's urgent.
Thank you
Hello there, @raafat. Thank you for visiting us here in Community.
As of now this feature is unavailable in QBO. What I can recommend is to use a third-party app that can integrate to QuickBooks Online. Check out the QBO App Store page to look for one.
If you want to provide us feedback, follow the steps below:
Your suggestion will be forwarded to our Product Development team, who will use it to further enhance your QBO experience. Track feature suggestion here: QuickBooks Online feature request.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to reach out to me if you need anything else. I’m always here to help.
This feature is required from the government in most countries from 2020, I don't know where is the team of developers? for sure they are sleeping. unfortunately, I will leave QB to work with another accounting company.
Are you located in KSA or somewhere else?
If you have an email address listed on the invoice (saved) and hit print, the QR code option pops up.
