Hello,
I'm trying to import a new fiscal year budget.
I've downloaded the csv template, and then Import Budget , but it keeps importing to last year.
I can't figure out how to import it into the current, new fiscal year July 2022 - June 2023.
Any suggestions?
Thank you
Hello there, @tmalloy.
I'll make sure you're able to import a budget with the correct fiscal year in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced.
Importing a budget template requires the correct company settings and chart of accounts setup of your QBO account. These preferences are needed before downloading and using the sample template.
Therefore, let's choose the correct fiscal year first for your account from the accounts and settings by following the steps below:
Now that your fiscal year account setup is correct, go ahead and download and use the sample template of a budget. Once done, enter the amount of budget you want to use in each account and import the file.
Kindly read and use this article to learn more about creating and importing a budget: Create and Import Budgets into QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for your response.
I followed these instructions and it still imported into the prior fiscal year.
Our new fiscal year began July 1 and it imports into July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 instead of
July 1, 2022 - June 20, 2023
Do you know how I designate the Fiscal Year?
You're welcome, @tmalloy. It's our pleasure to help.
Thank you for trying the steps provided by my colleague above. I'm here to share additional information about setting up your fiscal year in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you set the start of your fiscal year from July 1 the end of the fiscal will default to June 30 of the next year.
The feature to set the start and end date of a fiscal year in QBO will a great addition to the current features that we have, so I'll take note of it.
I also encourage you to leave feedback from within the product. Here are the steps:
You can check out this article for more information about providing feedback to make the program better: How do I submit feedback?.
