Income by Customer Summary

Is there any way to add columns to the Income By Customer Summary (under Company and Financial Reports)?  If I choose Income By Custome Detail, I'm given the option of adding various Columns when customizing the report.  But the Customer Summary report doesn't provide that option when customizing.  I would like a report with one line per customer, with their address, phone, etc, and the total income in the last column.

Income by Customer Summary

I'll share details about running reports, sduttonusa.

The Income By Customer Summary report is designed to give you a summary of the total income per customer. This is the reason why you can't customize it and add more columns unlike the detailed-type of reports.

We also have an article about this for more details: Understand Reports.

As a workaround, you can run Customer Contact List (under Customers and Receivables) in addition to the Income by Customer Summary report. This is where you can see the additional information that you need. Then, export them to Excel so you can combine both reports. Here's how:

  1. Open the report.
  2. Click the drop-down list beside Excel and select Create New Worksheet.
  3. Select Export.

Here's an article as a guide: Export Reports as Excel Workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll also be sharing a couple more reports-related references:

Income by Customer Summary

Thanks for the quick reply.  That solution won't work for me.  I'm using QB for a non-profit.  The "customers" are those that donate.  So I need to run a report for a specific time period (last fiscal year, showing the total income that each donor gave).  The Customer Contact List will give me everyone in our system from all previous years, so I won't be able to "combine" the two excel reports.

I have a solution using the Detailed Customer Income  . . . in Excel, through a series of formulas, I'm able to manipulate the data to collapse the detailed rows which display the individual donations by date, bringing the total amount up to the first line that contains the name, address, etc.  I was hoping to find a solution that was more straightforward.
