How do I add numbers to my chart of accounts? I'm using QB 2016 for Mac.

QuickBooks->Preferences menu. Type account numbers into the search field on the top right.

You are refering to journal entries?

Plus Sign (+) > Journal Entry

Thank you!! I've searching throughout the QB help menu and the QB website. I just tried your suggestion on the sample company and it shows the chart of accounts - with assigned numbers!!! thanks again.
