Quick Help! How do I delete a Refund in my Sales section?

I can only seem to Print, or Send. The refunds say Paid already. I just need to clear some 'bad' data.

Thanks!

You’re on the right track, @ZweeresR

You can remove the refund receipt from the print queue by editing it. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Accounting and select the Chart of Accounts tab.
  2. Locate the account and click on the View register link under Action.
  3. Click on the refund transaction and choose Edit.
  4. Uncheck the Print later box.

  5. Click on Save and close.

I edited the refunds, Deleted the reference numbers, put 0 balances deleted the customer data and unchecked the print later. I can still only Send or Print.

Good day, ZweeresR.

I got your back in ensuring that you'll be able to delete the customer refund that you've processed.

If you're unable to delete entries, it's possible that there's an issue with the browser. To fix this, we can perform some basic troubleshooting steps.

First, use a private window to access QuickBooks. This will prevent the use of cookies stored on the computer. You can access this by pressing the following commands:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

Then, let’s go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. These caches of data are essentially junk files and can be safely deleted to free up storage space.

If you're still unable to see it, try using a different supported browser. This can be an issue with the browser that you use and QuickBooks.

Additionally, you can check this article to learn more ways on how to refund customer transactions using your payment account: Void or refund transactions in QuickBooks Payments.

I'm just around to provide continuous support if you have any other concerns about this. I'd be happy to help you out. Wishing you well!
