We value your time and your business. I'd be glad to share some insights about the robot page in QuickBooks Online.
The robot page/CAPTCHA is based on the browser. If you log in to your account to a different browser, a robot page and a verification code will be asked.
Also, you will be asked for a verification code if the browser is set to “do not remember history”.

I can only imagine the hurdle you've been through in fixing the issue connecting your bank account to QuickBooks, @JHB67. Let me help you sort things out.
Issues like getting stuck on the Captcha page when setting up a bank connection can be a result of too much historical data stored in your browser. I suggest performing some basic troubleshooting steps to check if you're having a browser-related issue.
Start by accessing your QuickBooks Online company using an incognito page.

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I did all the things you mentioned, with a QB analyst on "Glance". I did incognito, I cleared cookies and history, and I have tried on Edge, Safari and Chrome.
I have already exhausted my bank's technical resources too.
As mentioned in my post, it must have something to do with how my QB accounts are setup:
Company A (personal QB account, but "unsubscribed" because my accountant wanted me to use her client QB subscription)...........had NO problem linking my BMO bank account to this one. Can click on RECAPTCHA
Company A (accountant subscription) Cannot link to my checking account due to invisible RECAPTCHA
Company B (accountant subscription) Cannot link to my checking account due to invisible RECAPTCHA
