How to stop recurring bills?

You've come to the right place, @Coil2019,

I can provide the steps to stop a recurring transaction in QuickBooks Online.

If you want to pause a scheduled template temporarily, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Gear icon then click Recurring Transactions.
  2. From the Recurring Transactions list, locate the invoice template then click Edit.
  3. On the Template Type drop-down, click Unschedule.

  4. Hit Save template.

When you're ready to use the template again, just toggle the Template Type back to Scheduled then update the recurring interval of the invoice.

You can also permanently delete the recurring bill. Here's how:

  1. From the Recurring Transactions window.
  2. On the Action column, click the arrow-down icon beside the Edit link.
  3. Click on Delete, then Yes to complete the action.

I'll guide you how to pause the recurring bill in QuickBooks Online. Here's how to do that.

  1. Go to the Settings or Gear icon and select Recurring transactions under Lists column.
  2. Find the transaction you want to modify and click the drop-down icon beside the Edit button in line with the bill transaction.
  3. Select Pause.
  4. There will be a pop-up confirmation, click Pause.

Here's a screenshot for your additional reference.

How to stop recurring bills?

Is there a way to "batch" pause a list of recurring transactions so I don't have to pause each one individually?

Thanks for joining this thread, @amichael2020.

Currently, the option to batch pause recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable. You have to manually pause each one to stop them from recurring. For the detailed steps, please refer to the instructions provided by my colleague MarsStephanieL.
