I have created a invoice 2497 .The description of the first row is very long and has more than 66 lines. When taking the PDF or PDF preview the description is getting cut and not spanning to the next page. Can you please help?

I've got a solution on how you can fix this, app-nomad-us.

We can adjust the widths of each columns in your invoice template by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear > Customer Form Styles.
  2. Click the Edit link of the default invoice template.
  3. Select the Content tab and click on the activity section.
  4. Under Columns, tick the Edit Labels and Widths link.
  5. Adjust the columns. You can also checkbox the Collapse activity rows.
  6. Hit Done.

Please see this sample screenshot for a visual reference:

Once done, open your invoice then try to preview and print.

For more customization on your sales template, feel free to read this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be around to help you out again. Take care!

Thank you for the reply

I tried the Collapse activity rows but the date column is not showing in pdf and the description is getting cut.

The description is not spanning to the next page of the PDF only if the template is Friendly .For the other templates the description is not getting cut .My custom template uses the Friendly template .Can you please help?

Thanks for your reply, app-nomad-us.

I'll share some troubleshooting steps to verify if the issue has something to do with the cache on your browser. Let's start with opening your company in an incognito or private browser. This mode doesn't save any browsing history.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

Next, open your invoice and try printing it. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Finally, restart your browser. You can also change to a different supported browser.

If you're getting the same result, you can view this article for the other solutions: Resolve PDF printing issues.

Please feel free to leave a comment letting me know how things go after giving this a try. I'll keep an eye out for your reply.
