Memorized reports errors

OMG  After the latest upgrade many of our memorized reports either vanished or opens a completely different report!  I followed the guidance from QB to fix and after relocating the corrupt reports I started a new report group and recreated 6 reports.  They are fine on my desktop but other users are not getting the new rebuilt reports?  One user opens the report and it contains a column that is not even in the column listing???  What is happening?

I appreciate you taking some troubleshooting steps to address this issue, Anne by following the guidance from QuickBooks and recreating the reports. I'm here to assist you through any further steps needed to ensure everything is running smoothly.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) it is important to ensure that your software is updated to the most recent maintenance release. These updates are designed to address various minor bugs and program issues that you may encounter. By installing these, you can significantly enhance both the performance and reliability of your software.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Close your company files and QuickBooks.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Look for QuickBooks Desktop, right-click on it, and then select Run as administrator.
  4. On the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  5. Go to the Options tab, choose Mark All, and click Save.
  6. Go to the Update Now tab, then select the Reset Update checkbox.
  7. Once ready, click Get Updates.

Just so you are aware, that doesn't work! I updated again this evening and did a rebuild on my file per your reps instructions, still not working! The rep has left the case open and has said he hopes a fix comes soon, but that doesn't do any good when I am wasting so many hours trying to fix what Quickbooks broke with an update. It would appear the only solution is to rebuild every report from scratch! How is this okay?! These were custom and specialized reports, some created over a decade ago by a different bookkeeper! This should be a lot of fun trying to figure out how they even created the report in the first place!

I followed the directions that are supposed to fix memorized report problems — running QB as an administrator, resetting updates and re-loading updates.  I launched the report that was incorrect after the previous update.  It had mostly reverted to the way it was before the update, except that it again had a column that was not there before.  Thankfully, this column can be checked in the customize report dialog box and I unchecked it so that the report is now back to what it should be.  My reporting activity is minuscule compared to many other users, so I can't even begin to imagine how utterly frustrating this must be for them!

Are you able to print them? Because they display fine on the screen after I add the needed columns and remove the unnecessary ones. The real problem is coming when I try to print them and all of a sudden they disappear again.
