Question

Missing 1 days CC transaction from Square

With the new Square application to integrate into Quickbooks online all has been going well until this week. On Monday when the credit card transactions for the weekend normally show up Saturdays did not come across. The Saturday cash sales did come across properly. It's been more than a week and everything else has been fine. How do I get the missing transactions to integrate?

I'll help you recover those missing transactions into QuickBooks Online, @aquazr1.

Manually updating your bank account permits you to bring missing transactions added to QBO. It refreshes the connection between the two programs. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Banking on the left panel.
  2. Click on the Banking link.
  3. Select the Square account you’re working on.
  4. Next, click on the Update button.

Once done, go to the For Review tab to check if the transactions are there. If the issue continues, you can manually upload your bank transactions to your QuickBooks account. Then, go back to the Banking menu to match and categorize your bank transactions.

Please comment if you have any other concerns or questions about banking. I'm always here to lend a hand. Have a nice day ahead.

Hi,

The actual bank transaction has come through. What I am missing are the Square sales transactions for these CC sales on that day which normally come through via the App transaction panel in banking.

Hello there, aquazr1.

The transactions transferred in QuickBooks Online (QBO) depend on how Square setup your bank. I suggest contacting Square Support so they can check the setting of your bank and allow it to sync the necessary transactions.

I'm adding this article to learn more about the sync square process: Sync with Square.

It'll be always my pleasure to help if you have any other questions. Just keep me posted in the comment section down below.

None of my credit cards have been going in to QB for the past week. Quickbooks help says it's square's problem and vice versa. I did disconnect and reconnect and it worked... for one day. And now back to credit cards not coming through.

Did you find a resolution?

Thanks for joining in on this thread, iambethlea.

I'll share some steps to help you update the credit card transactions.

Every night, QuickBooks automatically downloads the latest transactions from your bank. When an update seems to get stuck, an issue from the bank's end might be causing this, or you may need to complete some security requirements.

You'll want to follow the steps shared by my colleague Jovychris_A on this thread on how to manually update your bank in the Banking page. This helps update all of your connected bank and credit card accounts, and add your new transactions.

I've got this sample screenshot for a visual guide:

After the update, try to review your transactions. If your bank is still not loading the new data, then I recommend signing in to your bank's website then check for any maintenance or security updates. In case you encounter any bank errors, you can check the solutions under Step 4 in this article: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online - Variant.

Moreover, you have the option to manually import your bank transactions using a CSV file. The instructions on how to do so is laid out in this guide: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. Then, start categorizing and matching the data.

In cases that your bank updated the new transactions and you get some duplicates, I've got this link with steps on how you can exclude them: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online. When you're ready to reconcile the bank account, feel free to watch the video tutorial here.

Please keep us posted on how things go after doing the update. We want to make sure you have the new data updated. Take care!

Thanks!

It's coming in from the bank fine. It's just the credit card transactions coming in from Square. The cash comes in, and if I disconnect and reconnect square it comes through, but I don't want to have to do that every night.
