Report default date

I run a lot of reports.  I would like to set the RUN Date of ALL reports at THIS YEAR.

Currently it's at past 90 days.  SO each time I change a report, I have to go change the date and this has caused a couple errors from my assistant thinking she was running THIS YEAR and only ran past 90 days....

I want the DEFAULT as THIS YEAR on ALL reports, I don't want to have to set EACH one as custom...as that's insane...wayyyyy too many reports....

just a default.... ???

Setting the default date for reports is not an option in QB

I feel your pain. This should be feature.

I too would like to be able to set the default date range to current fiscal year.  Is this a feature that is being worked on for a future release?

Here at Intuit, your voice matters, helvigda.

I can see how the functionality in setting the report's date range as default to the current fiscal year would be beneficial to your business needs. With this, I'd recommend submitting a feature request directly to our product engineers from QuickBooks Online. They'll improve your experience with the program by adding or improving QuickBooks features.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  3. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  4. Once done, click on Next.

You can also track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

In the meantime, I'd suggest customizing the date of your reports to the current fiscal year. Once done, you can memorize them to save the customized settings to easily access them in the future.

Additionally, I've added these articles that'll help you know more about managing your reports in QuickBooks Online:

It is now 2025 and no changes. I am still having to change it to all dates from 90 days. And if I save the template for one account, the information would only be presented the way I want for this account, it does not apply to any other accounts, so I end up sending the wrong information to people, and was confused why I could have done this in the first place. This means I literally have to change the date range, the columns EVERY SINGLE TIME I go into an account to generate report, if I haven't already saved a template for that specific account before. How is this a problem that has not been worked on since at least 2018?

I recognize that each company has unique needs, and I can see how the feature to allow users to set preferred date ranges and columns that automatically apply to all reports, eliminating the need for repetitive adjustments on a per-account basis would save time and minimize errors, @YL_98. We understand the importance of efficiency and accuracy in your operations, are here to make sure this tool meets your specific needs and experiences.

Implementing new features requires a comprehensive process to maintain the quality and reliability expected. I recommend sending this request straight to our product engineers through feedback. It helps us improve the features of the program. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Type in your suggestions.
  3. Then, submit your request.

Furthermore, this platform offers versatile options to manage your data including the capability to email, export, and print a report, or save it in a PDF format for future reference. For detailed guidance on these features, please visit the resource: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. Then proceed to the Manage your reports section.

Please remember that my team and I are always here to support you with any questions or concerns you might have while using the program. Don't hesitate to reach out; we're here to assist you every step of the way.
