Looks like there has been a report overhaul. How can I see P&L YOY comparison including % of income? Or even a multi-year comparison? Using QB online.

Hello there, @lolojuice.

I'm here to guide you in running Profit & Loss report that compares the % of income for multiple years.

QuickBooks' financial reports provide you information about your company. You can customize reports in a variety of ways. You can filter them to display only certain years, or arrange the layout so that the appropriate data appears where it should. Here's how to tailor reports so that they highlight the information that's most important to you.

I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Business overview, then select Reports, or go to Reports.
  2. Find and open the Profit & Loss report.
  3. Under Report period, choose Custom from the dropdown. Then select the date range.
  4. In the Display columns by dropdown, select Years.
  5. From the Compare another period dropdown, tick the checkbox of the details you want to add, like the % of income.
  6. Click Run Report.

For future reference, you can check this article to guide you with report customization: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you need additional assistance running reports in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. have a great day.

While I apprecieate the "clear your cookies/cache" solution, that's not the issue. Functionality has changed for QB Online? The below no longer exists.

I appreciate you for joining in on this thread, lolojuice.

Let me chime in and share my insights about the Compared another period drop-down. Some reports allow you to compare two time periods side by side. This makes it simple to see how things have changed over time.

If you don't see a drop-down, then it isn't an option for that report. Please refer to this article for more details: Compare time periods in reports.

Also, you may want to check your subscription as this option is only available above the simple start plan. With that, I'll suggest upgrading your subscription to take advantage of this feature. Here's how:

  1.  Select Settings.
  2.  Click Account and settings.
  3.  Choose the Billing & Subscription menu.
  4.  In the QuickBooks Online section, select Upgrade your plan.
  5. Choose a plan and click Choose plan.
  6.  Hit Get started.

You can visit this article to learn how to download your data from QuickBooks Online: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

Post again here in the Community for further QuickBooks-related concerns. Have a nice day!

Please read my words: the "comparison" dropdown/options NO LONGER EXIST on any reports. Yes, I've cleared cookies/cache, yes, I've restarted my browser, yes, I've tried an incognito tab, yes, I spent 15 years in tech.  Can someone please provide an actual answer regarding report functionality changes?
