Sales Report that shows sales orders each individual rep has written for a fiscal year

Hello,

Is there a way to run a sales report that shows how many sales orders each individual rep has written for a fiscal year? Not the total amount but the actual number of tickets written. Our sales staff is wanting to know how many tickets they have each written but we can't figure out how to acomplish this. Could you please give me a set of instructions on how to acomplish this task?

What version of QuickBooks are you running? In my sample file on QuickBooks Desktop, I run a similar report by creating a Sales By Rep Detail report and then I change the filtering to show Non Posting transactions.

Customizing the report to show non-posting transactions is important because QuickBooks will only show transactions that have affected the balance and P&L accounts by default.

To create the report:

Go to the Reports menu at the top of the screen then choose Sales and then Sales Rep By Detail
Click Customize Report
Choose the Filters tab
In the Choose Filter area, choose Posting Status
Set the Posting Status to Non-Posting

Then press OK to display the report.

*If your reps are also on Estimates, they will be displayed as well. If this is the case, you may want to set the Transaction Type filter to show only sales orders.

We use QuickBooks Enterprise 15 - R14_19. Thank you for the help. It doesn't appear that it will give you a count for the total number of sales orders written per rep. It appears you would have to manually count them after setting the filters up correctly. It gives you the total amount sold and total qty but it doesn't appear to show the total number of sales orders written.

Our business is strange in that we have both hard bid and retail sales and there seems to be a bit of a dispute between the retail counter sales staff and the hard bid sales staff so they were wanting to see how many tickets had been written by each rep as in the total amount of sales orders that had been typed up so that they could compare.

The dispute arises because within the same company we have to operate on two completely different business models. The retail side has to use high profit margin / low volume and the hard bid side has to use low profit margin / high volume. The sales staff is having trouble grasping this concept so I am trying to explain to them how the two are differet but equal.

The hard bid staff in theory should only be writing a small number of sales orders because they only bid projects while on the other hand the retail sales side should be writing a higher number of sales orders at lower quantities. I just need a way to total the number of sales orders written by each rep to settle the dispute. I can always export to excel and run a sum formula I guess unless you know of a way that QuickBooks will total the number of sales orders written.

Honestly, to keep things as simple as possible, I would export to excel and have it count the sales orders too. There may be another option if you have access to the Advanced Reporting feature. I haven't used it much myself, but you may find it interesting: http://qbar.intuit.com/
