Start and end time blank in generated reports

I have my employees enter time through QBO where they provide a date of service, start time, end time, and client. When I go to generate the "Time Activities by Client Detail" report in QBO Plus and customize the columns to show "Start Time" and "End Time" they both show up as blank. When I click on one of the rows for each time entry, I see the start/end time in there. Why is QBO not correctly pulling the data from the time entries?

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to help fix the issue, nd319.

Display issues such as a blank page when running a report are possibly caused by piled-up cache files in your browser. We can do browser troubleshooting steps to get rid of any cache-related issues. You can launch a private window (incognito) and check if the start and end time is showing on the report. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox)
  • Control + Option + P (Safari)

If it is showing the details, return to your default browser. Your cache and extensions are probably interfering with the scripts that QuickBooks is trying to run on the page. Clear the cache so you'll be able to work with a clean slate. If not, you can switch to a different browser.

However, if you're still experiencing the same, I suggest reaching out to our support team to investigate further. They have the tools to be able to check why is this happening. They can also pull up your account in a secure environment. Furthermore, QuickBooks provides different reports that cater to your business and employees. For you to know what are these reports, check out this article for your guide:

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the reports. I'll always be right here to help you all the time.

New private window, different browser, clearing cache none of those worked.

@DHeraV

Thanks, but I just spent the last 2 hours on support chat doing screen shares showing them that this doesn't work. It even went up to the higher tier support, and ultimately looks like it is a bug in the software that the developers will need to fix on their end. For software that costs $85/month (QuickBooks Online Plus) I'd expect basic features like this to work and not be broken.

I have spent MANY hours with Quickbooks support trying to get this same issue resolved. They continue to ask me the same questions over and over again. Every time I get a new person I have to start explaining from scratch. I finally got them to open a ticket and they escalated it for me and then I got a response saying everything was working correctly and it provided no additional way to reach out other than starting from scratch again with the very unhelpful chat.

It is extremely frustrating that this issue has been known since 2022 and not only has Quickbooks done nothing to solve it, but their staff are actively working against a solution.

I need to be able to generate a report with the times on it for my customers' records. It is shocking that such a simple report can't be made in Quickbooks.
