Reports won't print or export correctly

My Sales by Customer Detail report shows correct data and formatting on the screen but it will not print or export the same.  I have the report grouped by Sales Tax Name, I have updated my Chrome browser, and ran it Incognito with no luck.

The original data shown had incorrect sales tax details.  I updated each transaction to reflect the correct sales tax item.  I have saved this report and updated it and it still prints with the original old data.

Reports won't print or export correctly

Good evening, @Fairviewdjc

It's great to see you back in the Community!

Since you've already tried most of our troubleshooting steps and they didn't work, please provide me with this screenshot: Visual of the report on the screen and then the printed report.

In the meantime, check out this guide for more details about reports

I'll be just around the corner when you're ready with those visuals!

Reports won't print or export correctly

I'm having a similar issue. I updated transactions and can get them in the report with a refresh but old data exports and prints. I need correct data for client facing reports. Any idea when this will be fixed?

Reports won't print or export correctly

Hello there, @vbanks7. Let's team up so you can print and export your reports with accurate data inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

There are no ongoing issues related to printing and exporting transaction reports. What we can do is we can check your current browser and see if temporary internet files are present. These so-called files can speed up the browsing capabilities, but too many of them can cause changes to your experience when using the program.

It's best to conduct simple troubleshooting procedures to clear your browser of unnecessary internet files. You can log into your account using an incognito or private browser by utilizing the following shortcut keys:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once you're in, access your company file and try to print or export the report within a specific period. If it works, proceed to clear your cache. For further details, refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the issue persists, it's best to contact our Customer Care Team so they can access your account in a secure environment and conduct further investigation. Please see this page for more information: QuickBooks Online Support.

On the other hand, here's an article to help you keep your current report settings for future use inside QBO: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

We're only a click away if you require assistance handling business reports inside QuickBooks. We encourage you to comment below so we can help you out again. Stay safe.

Reports won't print or export correctly

Wow.... i feel SOOOO scammed.  They pushed and pushed and pushed the ONLINE VERSION of QB... WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE IT WAS TO MAKE THE CHANGE.  I see that these issuesf rom MONTHS AGO, ARE STILL GOING ON...AND there is actually a comment (the one i'm replying to) that is now saying THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH REPORTS...   ADD ANOTHER FAILURE OF INTUIT TO THE LIST.... COMPLETE FAILURE.

I'm in the exact same boat as the OP... in desktop i did this monthly and NEVER had ANY problems.

NOW?  I run the Accounts Receivables Summary and ON SCREEN, the data populates just fine... but as soon as i EXPORT, ALL $ VALUES ARE "0".....

THIS IS STILL A DARNED (NOT THE WORD I WANTED TO USE) PROBLEM AND THAT SOMEONE FROM INTUIT CAME ON SAYING THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS AND ASKING THE SAME SCRIPTED QUESTIONS ABOUT BROWSERS ETC IS REALLY TRIGGERING....

PREDICTION: I WILL GET A SUPER FRIENDLY (WITH INTENTION TO HELP) CHIME-IN FROM A FELLOW COMMUNITY MEMBER, AND AFTER A FEW BACK AND FORTHS, SOME INCOMPETENT REPRSENTATIVE FROM INTUIT WILL SHOW UP TO TYPE OUT THEIR SCRIPTED RESPONSES COVERING THE SAME OLD CRAP....

I HATE QB ONLINE...THE ABSOLUTE WORST DECISION MY BOSS HAS EVER MADE IN MY 10+ YEARS OF WORKING WITH HIM WAS MAKING THIS CHANGE. SO SHOULD HAVE KEPT DESKTOP.
