QUICKBOOKS COMPLAINT NEW PRICE $399 to $799 - a 62.5% PRICE INCREASE
WOW!!!!! WHY SUCH A LARGE INCREASE?????
My Subscription was already expensive at $499 PER YEAR.
Now you are imposing a 62.5% INCREASE to $799 PER YEAR!
This is outrageous. I use a CPA firm. I only record money in and money out transactions
and provide quarterly and annual reports to my CPAs.
Why should I pay $799 a year for an accounting program where I rarely use anything other than basic functions such as making deposits, writing checks for bills, entering credit card charges to our companies, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing reports for our CPAs? I already had to spend $600 and 5 months of my evenings after work taking a Quickbooks certified course so that I can start using Quickbooks online. I attempted to change over to the online Quickbooks in October 2021. It was a nightmare . I had to switch back to my Quickbooks Pro desktop version. My data did not transfer correctly and some data became corrupted. Over 3 years of reconciliations for one of my companies were lost. So now I cannot reconcile those bank statements each month. Transactions that cleared three years ago became uncleared. Who's going to pay to fix this mess? My CPA Quickbooks professor said I need a Quickbooks expert to correct this disaster. I called the Quickbooks tech support line. The representatives are very difficult to understand because they are located in another country and English is not their first language. They spend almost an hour trying to sell me something that I don't need or want rather than solving my problem. That is unacceptable. I paid for tech support not a salesman wasting my time.
Why do you not offer the Quickbooks Pro Desktop version geared for small businesses online? The online version takes a seasoned accountant or CPA to understand how to use the Quickbooks Online 2022 version.
It is time to get another accounting program that is simpler and user friendly.
I am also selling all my Intuit stock holdings.
Quickbooks is making a big mistake by raising fees so exorbitantly and price gouging loyal customers.

Switch to another cloud based accounting app and purchase a 3rd party conversion service. If your annual revenue < $50K, you can utilize one app for free.
AGREE 100%!!!
I have used QB desktop for the entire 14 year life of my small business. QB price is so outrageous, that I was looking to get a new business program. I've looked into Manager, but it may take me longer ot get it up and running than I anticipated, as I am NOT an accountant or computer expert..
So, I thought I would try QBO monthly script until I had Manager ready. But now I'm hearing that using QBO means I can ONLY work while on the QB website? That I have to give QBO access to my bank accounts?!? They don't have access to my banks on my QB Desktop, WHY would I give a monopolistic company access to my revenue source?
What do I do if my internet is spotty? I DO NOT DO BUSINESS ON A MOBLIE PHONE - so that is NOT an acceptable answer from QB Overlords. So doing my accounting, invoicing and reports on a phone is NOT going to happen! How am I suppose to work if I can only do this online?
The Manager Software tutorials I've found, are for more computer savvy people.
QuickBooks doesn't care about small businesses. It only cares about their CEOs bonuses and their stock prices. Oh, and customer service is NON EXISTANT. They only want to SELL me more "stuff" I do NOT need.
I keep hearing this from so-called QB customer service (you are really a SALES/Retention/diversion service).
That QB's astronomical price increases are "in line with industry standards." BUT ~ QuickBooks has a virtual MONOPOLY on small business accounting software. So.... WHO is "setting the standards?" QUICKBOOKS IS!!! So - first off, Sales Person, just STOP with that LIE.
How do I get a license so I can continue to use my QB Desktop 2022?
I ONLY use the bank register, reports, and simple invoicing & statements. NOTHING ELSE.
After reading the above post about their files being QB Desktop files being CORRUPTED by QBO in the transfer, I don't want to have this happen to our business.
Hi there, @amhaas65.
The process by which you acquire and receive the license number and product code is determined by where you purchased QuickBooks Desktop. I'm here to walk you through how to get your license number in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let's find your license number in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account by pressing F2 on your keyboard.
Here's how:
Please note that if you purchased QuickBooks Desktop electronically from our website, your product information is in the original purchase confirmation email. If you bought QuickBooks from a store, look for this label next to the UPC Code on the original packaging.
Another option is to visit camps.intuit.com. You'll manage your accounts, products, contacts, billing, and user ID access here. Then, choose QuickBooks Desktop to view the license number and product code.
You can always contact us if you have further questions about installing QuickBooks Desktop. Need assistance running reports or tracking transactions? Please let me know, and I'll gladly assist.
I found my lic#, etc. Now what?
How much does a license cost and is it PERMANENT? I bet it's the same as the yearly subscription, which doesn't help me at all. It's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
If I switch to QBO, do I have to give QB access to my bank accounts? I do NOT use automatic transfers to my accounts. I do everything manually. Is QBO only available to use on your website? What if my internet is down, or what if QB website is down? Then all my data is LOCKED with QB? I do NOT use a mobile phone to do accounting, invoicing, reports or bank reconciles. We are a regular brick and mortar shop, and this "Only Online" does NOT work for our business. I need Desktop software.
Allow me to step in and help you get QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2022, amhaas65.
I understand that you prefer using QBDT than the online version. You can keep using the program as long as the subscription is active.
Your product number and license numbers are yours to keep. They'll be used later if you wish to update to a newer version.
If you have subscription issues with QBDT, I'll let you contact our QuickBooks Live Team again. They can discuss further how you can continue to use the program and access data.
If you need more help, please leave a comment below. I'll be grateful for your prompt reply.
I ALREADY HAVE QB DESKTOP 2022 installed and have been using desktop in one form or another since 2008-2009!
You people are NOT listening.
I want the simple QB Desktop - no bells or whistles - and I want to be able to use it OFF LINE.
Now you will respond with how I'm, suppose to install it. Or how I can convert to QBO - which I don't want to do, as I work OFF LINE.
I understand that you want to use your QuickBooks Desktop offline, amhaas65.
Before we proceed, May I know which country are you using QuickBooks for? Just so you know, the desktop version of QuickBooks is only available for 3 countries, namely, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. All other countries only support the online version of QuickBooks.
To answer your question if you'll be able to use QB Desktop offline, not totally offline, because the desktop editions are not completely offline, as it needs to be connected to the web to download program updates. You also need to connect it to the internet if you process payroll and use third-party applications.
I understand you want to work with QBDT offline. I suggest submit a feedback on how you'd like to see an option to work offline for QBDT. Navigate to the Help then choose Send Feedback Online and have your voice heard by our product development team.
I'll be with you again should you have additional concerns about QuickBooks. Take care!
You people are NOT listening.
They are listening but have decided to ignore it. The ugly truth is you are no longer their target customer. It's that simple. You should focus on my previous suggestion.
Thank you again, for all your help! I am going forward with the switch to Manager. I found a YT tutorial, and the vuisuals are helping me immensely. I'll be looking for more.
Again, thank you, Fiat Lux!
I would be having a panic attack/stroke right now without your help.
Peace.
