Yes, the system can recognize text from your transactions, @samspopbeer1.

As long there's a bank description added to your check, QuickBooks automatically categorizes your transactions depending on the bank rule created. Just ensure to set a bank text under the Apply this to transactions that are section. I can guide you on how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account, then select Rules from the Banking or Transactions tab.
  2. Tap on the New rule tab.
  3. Set up the rule, then enter a text after selecting the Bank text option.
  4. Fill in the other details, then Save.

If you have existing rules and want to modify them, just click on Edit under Actions.

To learn more about bank rules to automatically categorize transactions from your bank, open this link: Setup bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

However, if you want to review your transactions manually, here's how you can add, match, and categorize them.

To ensure the accuracy and validity of your financial records, I recommend reconciling your transactions or account. For your reference, use this article: How to Reconcile an Account in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know how else I can help you with QuickBooks. I've got your back and am always happy to help. Thanks for coming, wishing you and your business all the best.
