Question

Is anyone else having issues with their US Bank bank connection?

On November 3, my QuickBooks online quit connecting and communicating with Commercial US Bank account. Therefore, no longer updating the transactions.
This has happened once before and took over two weeks to resolve, and I had to upload the transactions manually.
I can still login to my commercial US Bank and my login is still working appropriately.

Try opening your QBO account on any private/incognito browser.

Upon checking, I found no recent reports similar to your bank connectivity (Commercial Bank) concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO), wahanner. I'm here to help you resolve this matter so you can continue managing your data seamlessly.

To address your situation precisely, may I ask if you've encountered a specific error code when linking or updating your account to QBO? Any additional details or screenshots could help us handle the connection problem accordingly.

While waiting for your response, I'll share some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve bank connectivity problems in QuickBooks. To start, kindly log in to your bank's website and check for any alerts and notifications about maintenance. If none, kindly refresh your account's connection by clicking the Update button.

Once you get the same result, we can follow @Chrea's recommendation to access the account using a private browser. It restricts external utilities from being stored in your browsing history.

Please refer to these keyboard shortcut keys to proceed:

  • Google Chrome: CtrlShift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CtrlShiftP
  • Microsoft Edge: CtrlShiftN
  • Safari: CommandShiftN

When you can smoothly sync your Commercial Bank account data using the private session, kindly revert to your standard browser and clear its cache. Doing so eliminates excessive data build-up and revitalizes QBO's system. If the problem continues, you can utilize another supported browser.

Should you encounter the same result, I'd recommend disconnecting and reconnecting the account from online banking. You can also consider manually importing your transactions for the time being.

I've also attached a resource you may check to guide you through the accurate reconciliation process in the platform: Learn the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks.

I'll be here once you provide more information about your bank connection error or if you need help managing your transactions in QuickBooks. Just tag me on this thread so I can provide prompt assistance.

Since you can still sign in to US Bank directly, your credentials are fine, so this is a connection and sync issue rather than a password problem. Start with a manual update, then rule out your browser and check the bank's side; if it turns out to be a wider bank-side issue, the most important thing is to keep the account connected and import transactions manually until it clears.

1. Run a manual update

  1. Go to All apps, then Accounting, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select Update. This refreshes all connected accounts; the transaction count on each tile goes up if new ones come in.

2. Rule out your browser

If the update doesn't pull anything in, sign in to QuickBooks through a private or incognito window and update again, which rules out browser extensions and cached sign-ins:

  • Chrome or Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works there, go back to your normal browser, clear its cache, and update again. You can also try another supported browser.

3. Check the bank's side

Sign in to US Bank directly and look for anything that can block the download: messages or alerts you need to acknowledge, a new security or terms prompt to accept, or a maintenance notice. Clearing any pending alert on the bank's site often lets the feed resume.

4. If you see a specific error code

Hover over the Bank error label to see the details, then follow the fix for that code. Because this is a business account, the connection type matters: if you ever re-add the account, be sure to select the Business version of US Bank if one is listed, since choosing the wrong profile is a common cause of errors like 103 and 377.

Important: don't disconnect while there's an active error

It's tempting to disconnect and reconnect, but if there's an active bank error or a known outage, disconnecting and reconnecting can pull in duplicate transactions. Treat disconnect/reconnect as a last resort, ideally after the error clears or with Support guiding you.

Keep your books current in the meantime

So nothing falls behind while this resolves, download a CSV, QBO, QFX, or OFX file from US Bank and manually upload it in Bank transactions. Once the feed is working again, QuickBooks resumes normal downloads.

To your "is anyone else seeing this" question: a sudden stop on a specific date for one bank is sometimes a known connectivity issue that Intuit is already working on. If the steps above don't restore the feed, contact QuickBooks Support and ask them to check for an open investigation for US Bank, and they can look at your specific connection
