Loan Manager

I had forgotten my Windows Password and after exhausting all the ways  to possibly recover it, I had to start over by Reinstalling Windows 10 and then re-install Quickbooks Premier 2020 Desktop and use my latest backup file for quickbooks to get started again.  I'm having trouble adding my truck loan into Loan Manager and getting the correct numbers / schedule of payments. The loan originated on 01/18/2020. I have made 1 payment so far on 02/18/2020.  Also, after using my backup copy of Quickbooks Premier, the accounts I had set up for this truck loan are still there and the main Account for it has a balance. In loan Manager there are currently no loans listed. When I try to add one and enter all the info in the wizard the result is a balloon pmt at the end that is different from the monthly pmt. and that is incorrect. All the payments are supposed to work out to be the same. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to add this loan into Loan Manager under my circumstances?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, the_tile_setters.

 

Once there is a new installation, QuickBooks uses the default file location. This is the reason why loans are missing in the Loan Manager. As an initial step to resolve this, we'll need to run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file. Save the file.
  2. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Then, run the Quick Fix Program to run a quick repair on the program.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, select Program Problems
  2. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  3. Open QuickBooks and run Loan Manager.
