Condense a QGB File

If you are using the Canadian version of QuickBooks Desktop, the Condense Data option is not available. However, you can reduce the size of your company file by creating a new file from scratch. Please note that this process may require extra work and time.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Head to File, then select New Company. Follow the wizard that appears.
2. Open your original file and export your lists.
3. Open the exported files and remove any entries that you don’t need.  
4. Import your cleaned-up file into the new company file. See IFF Overview: import kit, samples, files, and headers.
5. Set up the opening balances.
