You may have either selected your checking account while changing your payroll bank details or you haven't updated your company's direct deposit info yet in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @blomberg6. Let me share further details about this.
Your Payroll Settings page lets you manage your payroll account in QBO. When you change bank, you'll have to make sure both your payroll account's direct deposit details and accounting preferences are updated. Let's go to the Payroll Settings page to verify. Here's how:
Go to the Gear icon.
Select Payroll settings.
Choose first either Company (under Bank Accounts) or Accounting (under Preferences). Please see the attached screenshot below.
Verify that the account associated both with your payroll account's accounting preferences and direct deposit is correct.
Once corrected, you should now be running payroll using the appropriate bank account.
Also, there are a variety of payroll reports in QBO that'll provide useful information about your business and employees. For the complete list of payroll reports and their description, you can refer to this article: Run payroll reports. It also includes steps about customizing, printing, and marking them as your favorites
Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you have other payroll concerns or inquiries about managing accounts and employees in QBO, I'm just around to help. Take care always.
