Where can I buy a license for a desktop version no longer supported by Intuit?  Thinking the 2020 version.

Hi Klent, I've used QBPro since 1999 for my one-man professional services company and it has given me all that I want or need out of the software.  I purchased the 99, 2006, and 2015 versions.  Recently, Microsoft crapped on my desktop machine in AK by completely emasculating IE (I've tried everything I can find on-line, but it's gone) and leaving me to work on a laptop instead.  It's NOT a satisfying experience.  My concern is a) maintaining my data locally exclusively (I do NOT like on-line solutions in ANY thing with the possible exception of large file sharing) and b) ensuring I am able to perform all that I've done with QBPro in the past.

 

Yesterday, I shopped around and found a 2021 version of the DT software at ocithub.com for a price I can handle, so I would ask, "will the Desktop Pro 2021 package do everything my 2015 version would do?"  If the answer is affirmative and if these folks are legitimate vendors of your software, I would proceed with this acquisition.

 

Folks with Fiat Lux have traded notes with me in a prior thread and reached out again on this thread re: the 2020 version, but their pricing model is pretty high, given that I will probably only keep my business limping along for another couple of years.  I need to minimize my expenses and the subscription model is no help in that regard.

Once you decide to upgrade, keep in mind that moving your company file from the 2015 version to QuickBooks Desktop 2021 is a big leap. The QuickBooks program has a 3-year life cycle. That means you have to convert your data file(s) in stages from 2015 to 2018 or 2019 to 2021. Then, restore the file in between.

 

Usually, we offer to use the trial version when moving your file. However, the available trial link on our page is for QuickBooks Desktop 2023.
