I am using QB 2018 Desktop Premier.  I have a customer with whom I have many deposits throughout the year.  This customer buys our livestock at a sale, so it is not an accrual situation and no invoice is issued.  Why do the deposits not show up as transactions in the Customer Center.  Is it because there was no invoice and payment?  If that is the case, what report can I run to see total amount received by Customers who pay at point of sale?

Hi wyobookkeeper402. You are actually 100% correct. Without an invoice or payment tied to the customer, there is no way for the deposits to be linked to the customer as well. To have the transactions show up under the customer transactions section payments will need to be added from the customer. Here's a quick guide on Receiving Payments that will be a huge help I believe.

Also, so you can get a better understanding check out the Get started with customer transaction workflows in QuickBooks Desktop article. It will explain how everything ties together for you.
