Welcome to Community! QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic way to manage your employees and ensure they're paid on time. I'll be happy to provide more information so you can get started with confidence!
QuickBooks Online Payroll covers multiple aspects of wage transactions that meet government requirements. Once you've set up your payroll account, you'll need to register your business with the CRA to receive a business number. This is a unique nine-digit number that helps identify your business on the CRA website when filing taxes, including payroll taxes.
In order to pay your staff with Direct Deposit, you'll need to set up the bank account associated with payroll. Once you've completed the initial set up, you need to verify a test transaction that's taken from the account within 2-3 business. To allow direct deposit for your employees, ensure they've properly completed the Direct Deposit Authorization Form located in the employee set up, (How do you want to pay xxxx) section. You will need to submit payroll by 5pm PST, two banking days before the pay date, to ensure your staff is paid on time. Follow this link to Get started with QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Hello Snoozie1. To make sure I'm on the same page as you, are you looking to set up two payroll accounts under one account?
Yes I have an RP0001 and an R0002 which doesn't matter from day to day but does whenever we have to generate a T4 or an ROE. It also makes remittance time a little more burdensome. I couldn't see anyway of doing it in one company and so I am in the process of setting up a second company for our RP0002 which is a bit of a pain but will work unless you have a better suggestion
