Hi There,
I just upgraded to Quickbooks Premier 2023 Contractor edition, and needed help with changing the date format for data entry. On my old desktop version, I was able to enter expenses using date format MM/DD. In Quickbooks 2023 Premier Desktop, I need to enter YYYY/MM/DD.
Is there a way to change the format back to MM/DD. It's just very cumbersome to have to enter the year when entering a large volume of expenses.
Thanks in advance!

Hello Dom,
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. It's essential you're able to adjust your date format in QuickBooks and I'll be happy to share more info.
Since there isn't an option to change the date format within QuickBooks, the program uses the date format that's on your computer system. This means in order to change the date format in QB, you'll have to adjust the one on your computer.
Let me know if you have additional questions. I'll be a message away in case you need anything else.

It worked beautifully! Thank you for your help!!
That's good news. You're welcome.
You say the date formatting on QB corresponds to date formatting on the computer system. Please send 1-2-3 instructions for changing the date formatting on Windows 11 laptop version computer to mm/dd/yyyy.
This date format cannot be done in QB 2018 Pro. No I do not need a new QB version. I just want to fix the date problem which is not possible by following instruction within the QB program. It keeps defaulting to the truncated version, so every time I have a print out to show someone, I have to hand write the actual date at the top of each column.
Open Settings: Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
Navigate to Language & Region: Click on Time & Language on the left sidebar, then select Language & Region.
Change Regional Format: Scroll down to the Regional format section and click Change formats.
Select Desired Formats: Choose your preferred formats for Short date and Long date from the dropdown menus. You can also customize Short time and Long time in the same way.
Thanks, but that does not help.
On Windows 11--- I can get to Change Regional Format; however, there are only four choices under that category:
1. Date and Time
2. Language and Region
3. Typing
4. Speech
When exploring options in each of these four categories, none of them have any option for "Change Formats" or anything at all referencing changing the format of dates or times.
