You can adjust the inventory to keep your books aligned.  However, it's best to reach out to your accountant for advice before making any adjustments to the inventory quantity or value.  If you don't have an accountant, we can assist with locating a ProAdvisor in your local area.

Thanks for reaching back out for recording the items provided to your customers at no charge.  One of the many benefits of QuickBooks is having additional options for your bookkeeping tasks.  In addition to the information previously provided, another option would be to make a general journal entry for the date you gave out the product to your customer with the sale.
