QBO ad in Desktop

I appreciate you turning to the QuickBooks Community for support. At this time there isn't a way to block/remove the popup adds in your QuickBooks Desktop.

I am writing to express my frustration regarding a persistent issue I have encountered while using QuickBooks.

The problem arises from a recurring popup that refuses to disappear, even after selecting the "later" option. It significantly disrupts my workflow as it blocks essential functionalities within the program. Regrettably, the only resolution seems to be rebooting QuickBooks, which is not a viable long-term solution.

As a paying customer, I find it unacceptable to encounter such a hindrance in a professional software package. This issue not only wastes my time but also impacts my productivity, which is detrimental to my business operations.

I kindly request that your technical team prioritize resolving this matter promptly. A fix for this problem would greatly enhance the usability and reliability of QuickBooks, ensuring a smoother experience for all users.

I would like to add my voice to the complaints about these pop up ads that have started appearing in my Quickbooks Desktop.....and will not turn off.  I paid for this software and I resent - and am deeply angered - by the inability of Quickbooks to not take NO for an answer.  Please correct this constant and inappropriate intrusion on my workspace.

Hello k9repro. It's important you get the help you need and I'm here to steer you in the right direction. Could I have you follow the steps below in order to stop pop ups on your end? : 

1. Open your QuickBooks and go to Edit menu.
2. Select Preferences.
3. Then choose General on the left-side panel.
4. Click the My Preferences folder.
5. Check the box next to Turn off popup messages for products and services.
6. Once done, click OK.

Give this a try and let me know how you make out. I'll be one message away.

I attempted that solution initially, but unfortunately, the popup ads persist despite my efforts. The only way to remove them seems to be by rebooting QuickBooks, which is quite frustrating considering it's a paid program. It's disappointing to encounter such issues with a paid service.

I hear you on this. Have you been able to get in touch with our phone support team so they can share your screen and help get to the bottom of this? 

Checking the "Turn off messages for pop-up products and services" checkbox does NOT work to remove the QBO ads from Desktop.  This is beyond annoying, and whatever marketing idiot came up with this idea obviously doesn't understand how much it makes me dislike using ANY quickbooks product.  It definitely doesn't encourage me to switch to something even more electronically invasive.
