Does QBO EasyStart NOT support Recurring Payments?

I have tried looking everywhere for this but couldn't find it in any of the support articles.

On a side note: Does QBO support transactions from different countries (+recurring from different countries?)

Thank you!

Do you have a merchant service account? e.g QB Payments?

What kind of business do you run? SaaS?

I'm honestly not sure. I got the free trial of EasyStart to see if I like it and set up payments. Is that Quickbooks Payments? I'm able to send invoices for customers to pay online etc.

Not sure about the SaaS question.

QB Payments only support your local currency. You need to have a 3rd party merchant service to accept international payments.

SaaS = running a "Software as a Service" business or similar one may need a subscription management app to integrate with QBO.

Okay thank you for that.

What about the original question if I can do Recurring Payments using the EasyStart plan? Its not letting me for some reason (could be because I'm on the free trial but just want to know). I believe I'm set up for QB payments, I'm able to send invoices and charge credit cards and put in my bank info.

Thanks.

Does QBO EasyStart NOT support Recurring Payments?

I appreciate your time reaching out to us about this recurring transactions concern, @Jadee.

At the moment, the Easy Start version of QuickBooks Online does not support recurring transactions. You'll need to upgrade your service to Essentials, Plus or Advanced.

If you want to experience how an upgraded QuickBooks Online account works, use our test account. Click this link when you're ready to try it. We also have product tutorials for you to watch.

However, if you have signed up for QuickBooks Payments, you can create recurring payments for clients. You can visit the Merchant Service Center to do that.

Also, at the moment, QuickBooks Payments doesn't accept online payments from foreign bank accounts. You can follow Fiat Lux - ASIA's suggestion to try other apps.

Here are some links you can use for reference about recurring entries and processing international payments:

Visit us anytime if there's anything else you need to know about the processes in QuickBooks. I'm here to help you get started and be familiar with the software.

@Jadee

You should start with QBO Essentials. Please note, the discounted rate will not applicable when purchasing your trial account or upgrading your plan.

Thank you for answering.

So QB Payments is something different than I set up when starting Quickbook online EasyStart?

And just to be clear, I can still be on Easy start, but sign up for QB payments and charge recurring payments? Or is this not correct?

I am considering Essentials but wanted to see if EasyStart could.

In addition to this I believe I do have a merchant account or am already set up with QB payments ( I have a merchant ID?) on QBO EasyStart.

Glad to have you back, @Jadee.

You can set up Payments after setting up the trial account. This option is available when you open the Customers page. See this:

If you've gone through that setup, then you already have a QuickBooks Payments account. You will know if you've set it up successfully when you by going to the company settings. Here's how to check:

  1. Go to the Gear icon then Accounts and Settings.
  2. Click Payments.
  3. You will find there your Merchant ID and account information.
  4. If you see this page, it means you haven't set up the service yet.

Also, QuickBooks Payments is an add-on feature in QuickBooks. You can use it along the program to process online payments. If you established an account and don't want to upgrade your account, set up recurring payments outside QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to this link https://merchantcenter.intuit.com/msc/portal.
  2. Click the Processing Tools drop-down.
  3. Choose Create a Recurring Payment.

Message me again if you need further information about this customer payments processing. I'll be more than happy to share some more information.

Does QBO EasyStart NOT support Recurring Payments?

Thank you for the information! It seems I am set up for Payments as I see the Merchant ID.

I would like to set up recurring payments in the way you described (without upgraded my plan) but the link you sent me doesn't produce the same page as yours. I get this (attached)

Is there a way to fix this so I can set it up?

Thanks!

My understanding is that QBO Canada does not have access to the Merchant Center.

Oh really? Yes, I am from Canada, didn't know this was the issue.

It's not letting me upload to screenshot but basically it says "HTTP Status 404 - Not Found" When I click the link you sent me @Jen_D

Is it because I'm using the Canada version?

@RoninSword

You can use QB Payments for QB US and CA. Another option, utilize a 3rd party merchant service

QBO Payments is available in both USA and Canada yes, but the Merchant Center is USA specific.
