How do I send out remittance advice in QuickBooks online?

I already knew that it's not available.  That's why I said that you can't do it.  As for giving feedback, I've given so much feedback that I can't even keep track of it anymore.  Nothing has come from any of my feedback though.  Anyway, why should users have to be asking for basic features that other accounting systems have had for years and years?

When I switched to QB online I checked if it could do certain things that I need, but it never occurred to me to check if it would do basic things like printing remittance slips in a batch or allowing more than one address for suppliers or being able to filter the list of suppliers by type and about a dozen other basic things.

If you’re using Treasury Software, it’s Treasury that sends the remittances not QBO.
It’s completely automated.

We've been using Treasury Software for a while now and I'm quite happy with the results.

A couple people mentioned not liking the QBO solution for remittance advices and Treasury Software (TS) can produce those as well. In fact, they're also customizable in terms of the message itself and what data you include, such as a detailed list of invoice numbers / amounts.

I ran a batch today that paid 55 invoices to 29 vendors. This included importing the records from QBO, generating a CPA005 compliant payment file, uploading the file to our bank, and sending remittance emails. Except for the internal sign offs on the payment batch, it took less than 5 minutes from start to finish.

TS also has a lot of audit trail reporting so you're able to see when bank info was added or updated. We're using it for multiple companies and confirmed that this is allowed.

The set up wasn't too bad. There were a couple of small quirks that I ended up going to support for, but they were excellent to deal with. Quick response time. Easy to understand answers.

I'm sure by now you must be thinking I work for them, but I am not a paid actor.

I'd love to see them come up with a solution for this as well. Ideally a payment method flag that can be filtered. The best I've come up with in the meantime is adding (EFT) to the end of the suppliers' display name so that when you're in Pay Bills, you can see who is EFT and just select those ones. If most of your vendors are EFT, then it would likely be easier to do the opposite and tag the cheque vendors with (CHQ). Just make sure to check that their their Name to print on cheques doesn't have it.

Cheque numbering is a challenge if you're using the reference field for anything other than cheque numbers because QBO will always take that number and assume that was your last number, so always be careful with it.

The bank we use generates a file number that shows up in our bank transactions. For example, if my file is going to be 0327, I will number my starting number as EFT0327-001 so that the next one is EFT0327-002 and so on. It makes it a lot easier to match the single line in the bank to the multiple lines in the GL.

Canada Post has now gone on strike so our only option is to pay bills electronically.  We reached out to our bank and they require us to export files from QBO of the vendor payment list in the file type CP Standard 005 but I can not find anywhere on exactly how to do this or even which app would work for this format we need.  Anyone run into this?  We will be using Payment Stream and bank with Credit Union.

I set QuickBooks up to pay electronically a year ago. I use Treasury Software to create the ACH report to send to the bank. It works very well. I would be happy to help if you need assistance getting it set up.

I should mention that I am also using Payment Stream with our local credit union.

OMG yes please.  I am out of the office this afternoon but if possible to connect the 1st of the week, i would really appreciate it.  We are meeting with the bank on Thursday and they did not know how to access this report.  If you would  email me at [email address removed] and we can discuss further.  Thank you so much
