Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
What I can add here is that some couples are filing as residents of different provinces, apparently on advice from CRA. It comes up because ProFile is not designed to handle coupled returns for couples whos province of residence on December 31 differ. To complete returns were it is determined the spouses are residents of different provinces, the returns cannot be coupled.
Hope this helps
my position on this would be where were they living on december 31st of the tax year? they will be taxed on that basis. just my thought. hope that helps. good luck.
