Every month, we re-adjust the month end foreign currency based on our bank rates versus the QB rates. When we tried to run the Home Currency Adjustment tool for October 2018, after selecting and entering the date and new currency value and selected the Type accounts, when clicking on the Save & Close button, I get the error: A problem occurred and the home currency adjustment was not saved. Recreate the adjustment and try again.
This is a common month end task that we run so not sure what has changed.
Thanks,
Mathew

Hi Matthew
I have tried testing this and the home currency adjustment tool seems to be working . Can I just ask what browser you are using so we can eliminate it being a browser related issue
Regards
Emma
So I narrowed down the problem to one of the Types. Out of 4 Account Types, we were able to Adjust the Home Currency for 3 of 4. The the 4th is really the account that matters.
What would cause the Home Currency Adjustment not to work?
What is the 4th account is it a particular currency or account type? The error message you are getting is a generic error which does not give me any clues. The Home currency adjustment tool usually works which is why It could possibly be a browser issue just repeating the same error
can you try in an icognito / private window?
So just to add context, this is for Quickbook 2016 Desktop version, no browsers are used.
We successfully were able to run Home Currency Adjustment on a Vendor, Bank and Customer but another one of the Customer records gives us the error when running the Home Currency Adjustment. So it seems to be limited to this one particular Customer record. What are things we should look for?
Looking at the QBWin.log, here is the exact error, with surround messages when the Adjuster is run:
qbdatasyncdatamgr.cpp (433) : CHECKPOINT: 3468: Wed Nov 07 10:44:29 Modal qb windows are closed.
performancemeasure.cpp (130) : CHECKPOINT: 3468: Wed Nov 07 10:44:29 Event:{"Window":"Warning"}; wall time: 1042.44 ms, busy: 988.43 ms.
performancemeasure.cpp (130) : CHECKPOINT: 3468: Wed Nov 07 10:44:29 Event:{"Form":"Message:","Extra":"A problem occurred and the home currency adjustment was not saved.\r\n\r\nRecreate the adjustment and try again.","Window":"Warning"}; wall time: 1043.52 ms, busy: 988.43 ms.
mainfrm.cpp (2100) : CHECKPOINT: 3468: Wed Nov 07 10:44:34 MainFrame - reached [InitMenuPopup]
Would there be any other relevant logs to see what is causing the error?
Mathew
And now I realize that his posting is in the wrong forum. Hopefully the error is common across all platforms.
Hello admin_lqos

So it turns out the exchange rate we were trying to use seemed to have an issue. We were trying to adjust to value of 1.3142 and it wouldn't accept it. Using 1.31419 or 1.3143 works. Not sure why this particular value would cause an error.
Anybody have any thoughts?
