I have a banner saying QB cannot connect to a bank account, not surprising as it's not mine. It appears underneath one that is mine from the same bank, but no idea why it's there?
There is an On/Off button that does not work and no other way to remove it, tried to contact Support but as with many huge companies proving very elusive to even get a number and the Contact Us button just logs you back into QB.
Any suggestions?
Hello thecartoonman, Thanks for contacting us about removing a bank account from the Self Employed product. To do this if you go to the cog in the top right>bank accounts>you will see a rubbish bin symbol that will completely remove the account. For Self Employed there is no phone support however you can contact our chat team here or PM/DM Quickbooks UK on Twitter or Facebook and our care team will get right back to you.
I don't want to remove the bank account as my existing current account is here, underneath it, but 'greyed out' is another account, styled 'Business - Current' that has appeared with a small balance, I just want to remove this one.
No entries have been added to QB from this account but I keep getting the annoying banner telling me you cannot synch to the account, both need to be deleted - BUT no way am I deleting my main bank account to start again.
Also, I keep getting 20+ transactions to be reviewed when they have all been correctly allocated.
Glitches everywhere!
I am having this same problem, my bank account is showing but underneath it has two other accounts (named same bank as mine) but greyed out and it will not allow me to remove them.
As the original poster mentions I don't want to delete the account because the original one is mine and used for QB. Problem is on the QB Home page under accounts its adding up the total of all three accounts. I was thinking its a glitch with QB as this has only started within the last few weeks.
Interesting, so there is definitely a glitch in QB on this one.
As you say, it only appeared a week, or so, ago and you cannot just turn it off as the On/Off button does not work for this rogue account, but in any event, we don't want it there and why has it appeared?
We have not added it, so they need to do some digging here, but no way am I removing the main account under which this one sits, far too much hassle and at the moment no entries are coming from it to be excluded which is a relief.
Hi there, thecartoonman.
I appreciate you for coming back to the thread to provide further clarification about your concern. With this, I'll be sharing troubleshooting steps to help you fix the unusual QuickBooks behavior.
A cache full of history and temp files can cause unexpected behaviors, such as being unable to click the On/Off button or it that doesn't work. I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. Then, try to toggle the OFF option from there so you're able to start hiding the account. This also is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.
Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.
If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.
If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.
You can open this article to see additional details about deleting online bank or credit card data in your QBSE account: Delete bank and transaction data in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I suggest clicking this article so you can view information on how QBSE is a fast and easy way to track your business income and spending all year long: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.
Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns about banking. Wishing you and your business continued success.
Sorry, but that did not work.
Think it's an issue at QB. 2 of us have the same issue which started 1/2+ weeks ago, wonder how many others have not yet reported it?
Still got 20+ transactions to review, when you go the the page zero!
Hello thecartoonman, What we'd need you to do is use the rubbish bin to delete the extra account, and then once done if that did remove an account you wanted there, you can re-add that account. What we can do If any categorised transactions are lost is re-upload them into the QBSE account when you re-add the one you want to be there. If you could DM/PM Quickbooks UK on Twitter or Facebook with your email and the bank account name we can arrange for that( we might ask for a little more information on the account)
I'm just going to leave it, I have no interest in getting involved in deleting bank accounts I need and are up to date!
Hopefully, it will resolve itself and disappear and it's not adding any entries as it's not been synched!
Yeah I agree I'm not deleting my bank accounts (just to get rid of the grey ones) to risk losing all my transactions for last years tax year and this year so far.
The priority for you guys is to find out why these 'rogue' bank accounts have suddenly been added and 'greyed' out.
I just cannot believe the 2 of us on this thread are the only ones affected?
Hi thecartoonman, we'd be grateful if you could reach out to our live chat or social media support team (@QuickBooks UK) so that we can take some account details in order to escalate this issue fully, for security we are unfortunately unable to take these from you here as the information will be redacted. 🙇:female_sign:
