Hi! Is there any way we can edit an Assembly Builds? The inventory item that was already exhausted (Zero inventory) was mistakenly used which should be the new item. Can we edit? Thanks in advance.

EDIT BUILD ASSEMBLY

Thanks for the update, @ejoyce_00.

Let's delete the line item so you can edit and correct the details of your Assembly Builds in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'm here to show you how.

  1. Go to the Inventory menu and select Build Assemblies.
  2. Click the Previous arrow to get to the build you want to edit.
  3. Select the line item you want to correct.
  4. Go to the Edit menu.
  5. Select Delete Line.
  6. Add the (correct) inventory item you want to include in your Assembly Builds and all other necessary info.
  7. Click Build & Close.

You can read this article for more details: Add, edit, and delete items.

Also, you may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in keeping your stock status accurate in QBDT: Adjust your stock quantity or value in QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if you have other concerns about building assemblies and managing inventories in QBDT. I'm always ready to help. Take care, @ejoyce_00.

EDIT BUILD ASSEMBLY

Welcome to the Community, ejoyce_00.

Let me guide you in replacing an incorrect inventory item used for your build assembly.

In just few steps, you can change the item by editing the assembly item.

Like this:

  1. Go to List menu at the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Item List.
  3. Right-click on the inventory assembly item, and then hit Edit Item.
  4. In the Edit item window, select the item you wanted to change under Bill of Material section.
  5. Click OK to save changes.

You can also check out this article to learn how to adjust your stock quantity or value in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be here if you still need further assistance about inventory items. Have a great day!

EDIT BUILD ASSEMBLY

Sorry! What I meant was the Inventory Part in the Assembly was already built. Let me rephrase.

Hi! Is there any way we can edit an Assembly Builds? The inventory PART that was already exhausted (Zero inventory) was mistakenly used which should be the new item. Can we edit?  For example, I mistakenly built "Coffee Beans" in the inventory part but it should be "Coffee" only. Thanks in advance.

Hi ejoyce_00,

Thank you for chiming back in and providing this screenshot! Have you tried clicking that revert option and then adding the correct item? Let me know how that goes, or even provide another screenshot! I will be awaiting your response. Take care for now.

EDIT BUILD ASSEMBLY

Hi,

Yes, I've tried using the revert option and it will only allow me to change/update the ASSEMBLY ITEM,  DATE and QUANTITY TO BUILD not the ITEM (Inventory Part) and QTY Needed. Please advise. Thank you!
